Downside of the three past the post system. She could have been pre-selected as defending Olympic champion. But that is not how it works in America. Presumably that is the end of her season.
Considering her 400 background and for someone who has as much trouble as she does running in traffic, wouldn't it make sense to run the 400 where you get your own lane?
If you want to take he so bad, just replace her with the third place girl. No point to rerun the race just so Athing can make the team. That’s literally the only reason you’d rerun it. Just take her instead. Plus, what if she falls again and there’s a different top 3? She has a history of not being able to stay on her feet.
I thought the same thing. Sage almost broke her ankle hitting the rail it appeared. Lost for sure a couple seconds which puts her in the top. Her fall impeded Raven Rogers as well. Disappointing fore everyone. The ones that made it were not impacted. Juliette Whitaker did have a little shove when it happened.
The American favorite in the pole vault and defending world champ in the women’s discus didn’t make the final. It happens, each of those three women who made the team earned it. Do not take away from their accomplishments because someone else fell. Any of the three of them are just as likely to finish third as Mu since they finish races.
Unless Mu was impeded by a qualifier or so egregiously that the casual viewer complained they cannot rerun it. Not without a large payout to whoever gets removed from the team.
You not liking who made the team is not reason under the rules to rerun the race. We have trials, not a selection committee, and the way that works is you win your spot in a fair race, which this was.

She didn't race, focused more on modeling, and pooped in the fridge in a trials final just driving drunk because she forgot how to navigate.
You want that in Paris?

Looking at the replay in slo-mo, it appears that Mu caused the fall herself and greatly impeded Rogers. But anyway, zero chance that they re-run it. I am personally glad that I don't have to deal with Mu's bad attitude in Paris.
