Yeah - she also showed a lot of grit not giving up when they went by. She was digging deep.
I thought she was done and would fall apart when the three of them went by. She held it together and kept a respectable distance for almost 400m, and still got the standard. This is going to be a race I’ll show my HS kids.
I’ve been watching Parker for a few years and she has improved so much since her freshman season. She was so dominant this last college season it was hard to tell what her potential best really was. Well, we found out tonight what her best 5k time is and it’s an excellent time! Fourth best in the US including all runners, college and pros, and she ran the Olympic standard. She showed courage, she did not back down, she just wasn’t as fast as those other three amazing women. Good luck in the 10k Parker, I’d love to see you run in Paris!

She just held pace for the last lap. The time she ran today, is equivalent to about 30:40 for 10000m, so we’ll see how she does.
The disappointment for me is how poorly the top 3 ran. They didn’t even run close to 10K WR pace, for half the distance.
Pre would be proud. I think that she will make it in the 10k with Cranny scratched. She will likely front run to the Olympic standard again, but this time it will be enough.
