I think if you throw an implement onto the track, or far enough outside the legal zone, you should be DQ’d then and there. It’s just so dangerous. Sprinters are certainly DQ’d for less.
Holloway and Coleman are very similar. Great starters who crater a bit at the end.
Not the same. Grant has trouble at the end because he is too fast and runs up on the hurdles.
i agree with this, and it made me think.. is he better off with a slight headwind? but then i looked it up and saw his PR time of 12.81 was with an almost perfect 1.8 tailwind.
Hurdle heats are more time-consuming because you have to set the hurdles up again after each race, sprint heats are more time-consuming because the start is so involved a process, and it didn't take 42 minutes.
Holloway looked extremely calm in that heat, looks like a man on a mission, could be in for something special this year, potentially a world record with good wind.
Or hit two hurdles in the final and eek out a 13.00 win.

Put me out there by myself and OML the meet is 30 minutes faster.
There's a reason the men's 1500 final is the warmup event for the steeple prelims and two other more compelling distance finals tonight: Jakob/Yared/Josh with a splash of Jake/Tim is the only interesting dish in 2024. Nuguse well clear, Hocker safely in 2nd with a JV scrum in tow? Ain't nobody got time for that.
No offense to the women's steeple prelims, but I would LOVE to hear your argument why they are more compelling than this upcoming 1500 final.
In terms of distance events, as I think about the 1500, I think that ultimately even though half the field needs 3:33.50, I think it's most likelly to be a case of prisoner's dilemma where no one pushes the 2nd 800. They end up wimping out. I think Nuguse may get under there but I'm going to predict third isn't under. I'd love to be wrong.
Regardless, I do think it will be fast and keep going back and forth as to who will win. For the prediction contest, I picked Nuguse but I keep telling myself that Hocker looks amazing and this will end up being the equivalent of Kerr vs Jakob so I should go with Hocker. But then I just looked up the Pre Classic results. There Yared was 2.73 seconds faster than Hocker so that should be enough to win despite having to lead, right?
What have we said on the pod? 2.5 seconds.
For thirdd in a fast race, I think it's Kessler, maybe Teare. Don't discount Wynne - he's been very ipressive to me. Waskom also. No one else has a shot if it is fast.
