If I were Ed Eyestone, I'd be on the phone right now trying to find which california high school will let him stage a meet. Rooks could be a pacer and several other guys on the team could do 1-1.5k; Corrigan just has to hang on.
Do WA meets have the same requirements as like NCAA meets where you have to have a certain amount of events contested to count as an official meet?
Even in time trials (like what Teare did this cycle), they still did them at big meets and just had a "professional group" with just Hocker, Teare, and pacers.
Or can they literally just run steeplechase time trials until he hits the time?
Unless Corrigan sets up a time trial by the end of next week, Jager is on the team.

Won't be that easy, he will need to find an existing meet since to count for World Athletics purposes competitions have to be approved 60 days prior to the competition nowadays.
Alright. I wonder if there is actually a fast enough steeple between now and then. Of course, he could try for a rabbited race to pull him to a fast time.
"World rankings period: 01 JUL 2023 - 30 JUN 2024"
"*NB: the final list of athletes/teams eligible for entry through the world rankings, will be that of 12 May 2024 for Marathon and 7 July 2024 for all events."
All a bit confusing but I now assume July 7? Not sure

Needs to be an existing WA approved meet. Could possibly add a steeple to an existing meet, not sure on the rules there, but setting up a new last minute meet is definitely is not viable.

So the athletes ranked for the period ending 30 Jun will be ranked july 7th. Clear as mud. Looks like Paris DL could be used then.
Category C which gets 60 points for first. By my calculations he would need 1205 points to have an overall score of 1190, which means he only needs to run 8:24.
I think that part just means they are going to publish a list on July 7th, i.e. a week after the period concludes rather than instantaneously.
Exactly. From the qualification system document:
"30 June 2024: End of qualification and ranking period for all events (except Marathon)
(...)
7 July 2024: World Athletics shall publish the last edition of the Road to Paris for all events (except Marathon) with the final list of all athletes and relay teams eligible for final entry"
