Yes, Rose shouldn’t have left half an opening, but it was only half an opening. Grace pushed through a space that wasn’t big enough. Grace’s fall looked really painful (anyone catch that ankle roll? I hope she’s okay) but the idea posed by an earlier poster that Rose should be DQed doesn’t make sense from the TV camera angles. Grace caused the contact. Since they both seem to be advancing, not sure any DQs are warranted.

No different than Chelimo's barge-through at the finish of Mo's last 5000m:
Didn't expect that run from her. She potentially wins that heat if Rose continues drifting to the right, rather than cutting back in. Regardless, she has a decent shot at winning the final.
shouldn't kate grace be DQed for pushing? rose didn't leave a gap on the rail
What were you watching? Rose pushed her off the track
Rose was in front of her, you moron, and has every right to not let her pass on the inside. Grace is VERY lucky she didn’t get DQ’d, and I think she would have if Rose hadn’t advanced to the final already.
Mu will have to be tactically savvy to make the team—but nobody in the semis looked like a lock.
Mu will be completely fine. She cut it loose for 50 meters in that semifinal, and won. She’s clearly trying to do as little as possible to avoid getting overstressed. She’s going to win again tonight.
It was even more evident in her post-race interviews. Her body language, facial expressions, and speech patterns. It's a big difference in how she has presented herself in past interviews.
