I think that this meet is more of a sprinter meet the talent in the hurdles and the 100 200 and 400 where much better. there also was a kid that ran at the Hoka festival of miles running there in the steeple

Imagine calling yourself a 'national champion' with a 9:30 2 mile. Pathetically slow. 2nd was 9:45
Look a few years back and you'll see that 15min won the world champs 5k for men!
this is mostly a sprinting meet. the times in the 400 200 100 are much stronger the shuttle hurdle relay ran some good times and there where some nice pole vaulters and the steeple was good to
Region also matters. Distance talent is saturated on the coasts and up north, so that attracts more distance runners from other regions. Plus the Brooks/nike double gets a lot of talent. Almost all winners doubled back
New Balance outdoor meet was amazing!!! Lots of high level talent from ms up. Quincy Wilson from Bullis - 45.10 split in the 4x4. A number of new national records and season us #1's, which is just what a national meet should inspire.
It makes sense to have multiple national meets for a country of our size. Our team had a couple kids in the freshman races and we ended up streaming the meet most of the weekend bc there were so many races we wanted to see. Shout out to the BC High boys in the 4 x mile.
Also, interesting to see all the track farm schools that are powerhouses, some with corporate sponsorship.
We are in a small league where we dont get to see this level of talent until the very end of the season. Much respect to all the athletes and coaches who work hard all year to be able to compete and excel at the highest level.
As for people who want to butch about 9:30 being a pathetically slow national champion, are you the kind of person who walks outside on a beautiful sunny day with flowers blooming and bunnies hopping by and thinks, "what a pathetic day"? If so, insert head here:
