every three to four weeks there is a new post linking Kenyan athletes/runners testing postive for drug use on letsrun message boards, instead of Consequences, they get more coverage and are treated like hero's, I don't get it. The price for using illegal drugs, is more money, more coverage, more invites, and more championships.
What are you talking about? These athletes are typically sanctioned and never come back, with just a few exceptions.
There are consequences, they get negative coverage, they are not treated like hero's (sic), they do not get more money, they do not get more invites and they do not get more championships.
1) WADA only does the rules, no testing, no prosecution.
2) The NADOs are patriotic, to put it mildly. Americans want Americans to be competitive at the Olympics.
3) The AIU was founded by WA, with their leaders hand-selected by Lord Coe.
4) WA is proud and delighted when each Olympics and World Championship is faster than the previous.
5) WA benefits strongly from each World Record.
1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 5 = doping is good for business. The show must go on.
Counterpoint: Russia
There is definitely something underhanded going on keeping Kenya from being sanctioned, but I can't tell what that would be.
You'd think in the most US/Europe-centric way they would rather have the same benefit you describe but from most marketable jurisdictions?
Russia was political, and moreover it's state-doping leaked. And the Russian runners didn't set many world records in this century. That is not a strong counterpoint to "doping is good for business".
Rhonex and Shelburrito are good examples on the personal level. And Kiprop - the later you get caught, the better obviously. Even though ultimately banned, they all earned a lot of money in the meantime.
2 doses lol…Sounds like all your coach needed to do was give you a good placebo and you would’ve been a legit 46 guy. Never underestimate the mind.
Yeah 2 doses buddy. Have you done steroids, SARMs or anything similar and ran the 400m? Stop talking. Also a "dose" is given over the course of 3 days and is much lower than what you think.. if you are already training at peak fitness and running 49.3 and then 12 weeks I Pr'd and ran 46.8X not giving you the exact time so I'm not found. It's not even that fast, but again I was just a 49 guy, imagine if you were already a 46, 47, 48 low - it only makes sense to dope so we can get outta the hood. my boi. do you even realize? i'm 26 now but doping gave me hope i could have got to the Olympics. unfortunately i got injured and never had a chance to take another good 2,3,4 doses over the course of 3-5months
you track coaches who only ever studied books and never actually trained professionally and done PEDS should stop talking like you understand how "much" you need. it depends on the athlete and the drug. the stuff we were using wasnt even in your dam textbooks. lol
Ever follow the 'Tour Divide'? This used to be a dirtbag gravel ride of 2700 miles down the intermountain west corridor. It's now being exploded by European dope bags, blasting 220+ miles per day on mtb terrain, leaving a trail of potholes from their radioactive piss. No surprise these africans are following suit for this cute little jogging club you all follow.
We conveniently overlook that most posters here skew liberal of the "my body my choice" variety. Shouldn't that include the substances they put in their body? Or do you just want the government and sporting agencies to regulate things most Americans wouldn't do, because they lack the drive to train hard in addition to taking PEDs?
Ok maybe put down the pipe yourself if you think most posters skew liberal. these boards are tragicomically reactionary.
2 doses lol…Sounds like all your coach needed to do was give you a good placebo and you would’ve been a legit 46 guy. Never underestimate the mind.
What a typical arrogant thing to say. First off I'm black, I always give 110% you sayin a placebo will help is a joke. Maybe placebos work on you, but they dont work on me like that buddy running 3 seconds quicker.
go away and keep your smug face and asinine comments to yourself. I literally did everything in college and trained like an olympian to run a slow 49 and then after college i take a 2 doses of this stuff my friends were selling and I run 46 in 3months...unfortanely got injured after that, but just imagine if you werent me and could naturally run like 47.
anyone else wanna insult me with "placebo" lol. loser
