Not even, you just talk too much. Well in my defense on the golden age of last XC season my mile time was 6:15 in the 2 months I trained with injuries and such. I’m also a girl. I still believe that’s slow compared to fast runners.

You are probably right

are YOU calling me slow ? I finish top 10 in my guys track race
hate posting at 5 min in the mile is wild lmao, leave this person alone. running is for everyone
It’s enough to get me top 10 in a track meet. So you can’t really call me slow
I’m glad you are satisfied with your time and I accept you are fast. Can you go on your day now?
.
I mean you know you are fast. But OP is untalented and hella slow. She probably won’t improve. 8 mins for a mile is crazy LMAO
Smh

PS: I know I am deadly slow so don’t be mean to me about it. I already want to improve.
Also please give advice I NEED TO IMPROVE
Im 16f and I want to have a significant improvement before XC season. I’m relatively new to running; I started running last August, but I was very very inconsistent with it and when I did run. My milage was like 13 mpw or sometimes less. But I ran for like 4 months if we count only the times I did run. I also suffer from low iron. But I’m deadly slow, I haven’t ran in months or so but my time was 8 minute per mile when I just measured it, I have gotten a lot slower. My diet is also very bad I don’t eat a lot and when I do eat it’s always sweets and carbs. I’m also a bit fat well ofc not fat because I’m 114 pounds at 5’3 but I lack muscle.
But now I’m willing to change all that, I’ll take my irons consistently, I will eat healthy and I will increase my milage. But what more can I do? I’m genuinely in need of improving my time very significantly. My goal mile time is 6 minutes per mile. But I lack base speed.
what I’ll do to improve- take irons consistently
- run consistently even if everytime I run I hate it so bad I want to stop
- Eat healthy
- try and run very high milage (I don’t know how this will work tho)
- significantly lose weight from 114 — 90pounds
To anyone who was at my spot, how can I improve so significantly ?
Run more. Run more mileage, run more often.
Are there hills near you? If there are run them.
If not, run bleachers somewhere.
But just run and every once in a while push the pace.
Yeah this. Just run more. Definitely don't worry about the scale. If you run 5+ days a week and start eating three actual meals a day (meat, veggies, fruit, rice, pasta, beans, etc.) you will look, feel, and run better than ever before.
Are you trolling or are you actually trying to flex a five minute mile and finishing top 10 at local track meets? There is nothing wrong with either of those performance marks, but in the grand scheme of things, it's about as competitive as an 8 minute mile and in no way worth flexing/putting others down
Thanks!
A few thoughts:
1) Stop worrying about your weight. If you train regularly, your body will naturally find a good weight. And your weight is totally fine for a high-level runner.
2) High school runners have a hard time believing this, but lots and lots of jogging over the summer will make you fast for XC season. If you hate running, it is likely because you run too fast on most of your runs. 85-90% of your summer running should be jogging. 10 minutes/mile is totally fine. A single tempo run of 3ish miles at a fast, but not race pace plus 4-6 strides 2-3 times/week is all you need as far as the faster stuff. Your first race of the season might be slower than you hoped for, but you will improve rapidly and peak nicely for District/Regional/State etc. once you start doing faster workouts with the team.
3) Distance running is a grind. You just get yourself out the door and you do it every day. Less thinking, more running.
4) Since you are early in your development and haven't found your love for running just yet, there's no need for high mileage. Start with 10-15 mpw or wherever you are right now and slowly build to 30 mpw. Only run more if you are having fun and feeling healthy.
5) Remember that the first scorer on the team and the last scorer on the team are equally important. And even if you're not scoring this week, your team may need you next week when someone gets sick or has a bad race.
Good luck!
