Recently got sick last week for 3 straight days, had to take them all off. It was only my 2nd week (really 3rd but 2nd complete week) of training. Around 3 full days of training later (my training isn't crazy, I'm in base building up, but the build up is important!) and I got sick again, the past two days. Now it's my 3rd week (4th)...
I was feeling better but if it comes back tomorrow it will mess up my afternoon run. It's been about 5 sick days in total, 3 days 2nd week, 2 3rd week (yesterday/day before), but throw in a rest day a couple days before the time I got sick from 2nd week, plus maybe tomorrow, and that's a whole week missed. Which is like 30-40% of the time i've been training. I won't "lose" fitness since im building up, but I'm really hoping to make a lot of progress this season, could this significantly affect my xc results? I want to run in college and I need this xc season to very well; Im going all in with training this summer, but to do that I have to have a good build up, summer for me is starting Saturday. After that, I have about 12 weeks before my first race. I'm really worried
