this is a weird mix of flex and self loathing. i suck but will i become amazing, to hear the poster.
here's the deal. you should already be in college based on age. you may have already burned a year of eligibility and not be competing. in which case you're not a TF person anymore, really. plus, at 99% of D1, 4:30 doesn't make the team. i will save you that attempted flex. it's not that "you" won't join, it's they will tell you "no." to be clear.
there is a tiny percent of D1 where 4:30 could make the team, but it would be a serviceable time in D3 at many schools. you won't win conference at 4:30 but you wouldn't have to break 4 to win. you wouldn't be last place at meets, i know that much. i think the winning D3 nationals time yesterday at 1500 paces out over 4.
this is also a BS post because to me generally to get sub 4 god has to reach down and tap you on the shoulder with unusual talent. and the only chance you have to get near it, with your times, is structured team practice. you running on your own, occasional time trial, then declaring yourself unwrothy, is a weird poseur post. you're not in a training situation to drop the time and if you're not even trying i don't want you confused with the kids who make the effort.
