Word... they've got a mental seal. Can't see straight. Jakob got bossed. Pacers were there, Kerr took it over and let Jakob sit on him, then denied him the lead. How is Jakob going to win in Paris?
i think the 1500m is too competitive in 2024 for anyone to win the 1500-5km double. I think jakob would have a good chance to win 1500m if he focused on it. But, i will go for Kerr if he does the norwegian does the double.
Also think others could win, like Wightman
Happy to be proven wrong, as winning the double will be a great feat this year.
It's not about focus, it's just about Jakob not being able to win the final. Kerr just proved to Jakob that sitting on others won't help him win gold.. meanwhile Kerr can snipe Jakob. Tactically Jakob is just not a superior 1500 runner vs Kerr.
Kerr just ran a massive PB to beat Jakob who was two seconds off his, obviously in an opener (which is insane to me). I think Jakob has a higher ceiling for improvement from where they both finished today. I have a feeling sub 3:43 could be in the cards for Jakob in a month or so.
With Kerr much better it still doesn't help Jakob's chances in a 1500 final. Wake up.
Idk, he’s lost twice. To say that Kerr is now tactically superior seems like a big stretch.
Obviously they are now more well matched than it seems they were before but for a first race JI just over performed and closed just as fast as Kerr. While Kerr ran great, his training has been going well and it was more expected for him to run fast. I think on any given day they can beat one another at this point- which is a testament to how much Kerr has improved to match JI.
I’m still betting JI get close to the 1500m/mile Wrs this year and wins the olympic final- that’s because I like him a lot more. Could definitely see three to four guys taking the win though.

Doesn’t need to. Jakob closed just as fast as Kerr today- off of massive volume weeks in his first race in nearly a year. Jakob can kick just fine and if Kerr is off even a little after rounds, Jakob can take advantage. Same goes for Kerr. I think it’s any guys race at this point- legs a little heavy or minor tactical error, and it goes to the other guy (or nuguse, Whiteman, Hocker even).

Don’t feed into a guy that calls himself Trollminator

How could this post possibly be upvoted? Kerr’s 3:29.05 1500m PR, converts to 3:45.8.
Don't bet your house on an Olympic winner before you have seen the DL in OSLO on May 30.
Eugene was just a tune up race for Jakob, he crossed the Atlantic even though he didn't really need to just to get the juices flowing for himself and allow Kerr to stupidly put the target on his back with now increase pressure back home in the UK.
Unless the weather fudges up Jakob will be going for a WR on home turf in Norway come Thursday - that's the real season starter race he's been aiming for since last season.
He looked super strong and almost won today. He was injured and currently he's gotten to a level where his "shakeout" performance is a 3:45 mile. I'm betting on him.
Eh, just remember he was personally paced to that time. I can’t believe the cognitive dissonance going on here.
Seriously, how does Jakob losing a mile race make these kids more sure that he's going to win.
Why is the discussion not, Jakob Ingebrigtsen was sitting on Kerr for 500 meters and still lost? In a race that is 109 meters longer than Kerr's best event...
This thread is so pathetic, you guys have like 30 excuses lined up for Jakob, he's not going to fvck you...

I agree with you. I have a feeling that Jakob doesn't make the final, and then Kerr gets beat by someone in the top 10 rankings. Unlikely American.
Maybe things have changed, but when I was young we all agreed that the title favorites just had to show, as usual, that they were on the right track two months beforehand. And two months later they were even stronger. A few tenths mean nothing right now.
