There is a Division 2 school in my town. They have M/W Basketball, M/W Cross Country, M/W Golf, M/W Tennis, M/W Track and Field, M Baseball, W Softball, and W Soccer. I understand how football can cause a need for more women's sports than men's to meet the Title IX standards, but the school does not have football. It has identical sports, male and female, except for having only a women's soccer team. Sounds like a Title IX violation to me unless they just don't give as many scholarships to men on the basketball team as they give to the women's team, along with other sports. Women's soccer had 29 team members. That's lot of scholarships to deny men's teams.
