This is a mess!
To not include Tola is not just a disaster, but a tragedy.
Unbelievable.

Bekele will get his vengeance, he will podium while Kipchoge barely makes top 10
Any medal for Bekele will be the best result for him. I really like seeing him racing at this age. But if Bekele wins a medal, he should retire and end his career of a high note (an Olympic medal).
Not that it will probably matter, apart from recognition: as your name suggests, Sutume Kebede couldn’t do much more in the major in Tokyo. Is it still the WL?
This is the same guy who ran 2:05s in his mid-30s with a potbelly visibly flopping back and forth under his singlet. Motivated Bekele is the scariest runner of all time, and he is effing MOTIVATED!

This is a chance for all the old guys here to re-live some awesomeness. El G, Sihine, Tedese, Hall, Geb….all long gone. But not Kenny B. He needs revenge from Kipchoge after 2003 WC 5k.
He got his revenge a long time ago when he won the 2008 Olympics and the 2009 WC at the 5k beating Kipchoge both times.
This news is amazing, really, he make the olympic team 12 years after his last appearance and 20 years after his first.
That will be a great way to finally end this legendary carreer.

YESS!!1!!
Bekele vs Kipchoge in France 21 years after their last clash there in the 2003 WC 5k. Crazy to think these guys are still going. I wasn't in high school at that point or even a runner but now I'm old and washed and "retired" from serious running, but they are still going for gold at the highest level. They have the fountain of youth. Fun to watch these guys from the past era still up there.

lolol at including Ryan Hall’s name in there
Tola should be on the team imo. 2:04:58 @ NYC is insane. & those complaining about his 2023 WCs he won 2022 WCs. Geleta ran 2:03 this spring but has mostly run B/C tier marathons. Don't get that decision.

Sihine was the biggest victim of the Bekele's era, even more tragic than Terget in Haile's.:(
I don''t know why, when I saw the news, the superman theme came to mind.
The GOAT is back, baby!
