As much as I'd like Mu and SML to thrive, their presence is being shadowed with suspicion. Now you add in who their coach/associate is and given that history, plus the dodging of competitons, only escalates the ssuspicion. Mu's comment last year that she may quit track and become a model (there's different standards for models these days) is certainly puzzling to start but should also be viewed with heightened suspicion. Perhaps she was under duress from the testing/testers in some regard. I hope she's clean and authentic, but willfully associating with that coach and group is unfortunately not a compelling starting point.
Classic Kersee. So exhausted of this man and his antics. This entire meet was set up to showcase LA track and field and its so called fanbase. Mu wanted to run (she almost always does) but Kersee changed his mind for the 20th time. Nike said enough is enough and that Mu better be on that line come Saturday. After this season, Mu is out.

Why would your first explanation, especially for Mu, be doping? She hasn’t ran any time that’s wildly out of line with the potential and achievements she’s shown all through AAU to her first year of college. In fact since switching to Kersee she hasn’t even won a gold medal yet. If she was doping, why would she be doing so to fail? At least wait until she runs 1:53 or wins a 4 + 8 double to accuse her. Mind you, both of those already seemed within her potential before she stepped foot in Kersee’s camp too.

Do you people just like inventing conspiracy theories and narratives? Her interest in fashion is long documented, and considering she's been training and competing at the highest level since 14 (didn't even compete for her HS but straight to training alone and competing in AAU), is it really that big of a surprise that she's slightly over it by now? Just because she's a generational talent doesn't mean she has to love the sport more than anything.
Maybe her lack of racing will help her peak in September again instead of at the Olympics in July.
I don’t get what she has to be afraid of, she’s already lost to Moraa and Keely then came back with a smoking 1:54 at Pre last year. I don’t know why she wants to race a field that’s basically the caliber of a world final (Moraa, Keely, Rogers, Reekie, Akins, Duguma, etc.) in her season opener.

I agree. I think Mu is tired of Bobby Kersee trying to push her to be a 800/1500 runner just to avoid her competing against Sydney in the 400.
What kind of runner would tolerate a coach who says, 'Yes, I know you just set the college national record in the 400 but I'm not allowing you to run it"?
Mu will move to a different a different coach in 2025.

Jeez this is just a rollercoaster. On the start lists, dropped out, and then back on. I was hoping she was just afraid to lose after winning for so long, and that after losing last year, she'd be ready to race more. Either it's her coach that's keeping her from racing, or she must hate racing.
SML and Mu should be the faces of the sport, not just in the US, but in the entire world. SML is the greatest ever at 400mh. Mu won Olympic gold at age 19. Have they raced a dozen times since the last Olympics. Counting rounds? Since the last Olympics, have they combined to run in more than a dozen meets?
Last year, Mu ran NYC Grand prix (to get a USA qualifier), USAs, Worlds, and Pre. That was it. Sydney ran NBIGP, Paris DL, NYC grand prix, and USAs. This year she's run Occidental and Mt Sac. Since the start of 2023, I count 8 meets for the two of them combined, 10 uncombined. I count 9 total races for Sydney and 7 total for Mu. The two of them have run a combined 16 races. For reference, in 2021, Mu ran 36 races (counting rounds), won NCAA outdoors, the US Olympic Trials, the Olympics, and still broke the American record in her last race of the season.

Yeah but she’s getting paid hundreds of thousands a year to run and race. She should be loving the sport for that kind of money. Prima Donna
I’d like to be paid a salary like hers and instead of showing up to work spend my day with my dog on Instagram and show up in weird fashion outfits waiting for a camera to show up so I can post more crap. Running? Oh sorry. I need to do that too?
