Yeah, I heard he had a conjoined twin at birth that had to be removed and now one of his arms is significantly shorter than the other due to the surgery. Very strange indeed.
Sadie has a private coach who is on the spectrum. I can’t find his name anyplace. I know it’s Matt , but can’t remember his last name. I don’t know why more people don’t talk about this. Her coach should have a story about him overcoming diversity with his disability and able to work with Sadie. That says a lot about Sadie as a person to work with him too.
He tried to get the head Ventura job and the school wouldn’t hire him because of parent complaints. He’s a bazaar dude and you can see that he’s not right when you look at him. His eyes are off and something is strange. All that being said, it’s great he still can be involved in athletes with having those disabilities. His name is Matt Hammel. Im not a fan of him from his interactions with others, but more power to him with his involvement
This guy has been an issue for years in the community. Not liked is more the reason he couldn't get a High School job.
Ivarsson finished 2.5 second behind her in the prelims. are you thinking of Hedengren at Arcadia who passed her 3 laps in? Saddie says they planned that. not sure what that means. and anyway not a CA athlete of course.
If I recall didnt she barely qualify for the championship final last year? finishing like 10th in the semis trying to pace herself? had to come back in the last 100 meters to clinch a birth. Im going to assume she doesnt do that again.
Yeah I noticed that too. When I was there to watch it live last year, I thought she was hurt or something. She was lucky to make it into the final that year
Obviously the next day we saw it was just to qualify for the final, but that was quite the risky move for sure.
I agree with you that the d2 1600m race should be a really good race. Given the competitors and dynamics of running to win vs qualifying for the Masters meet vs saving something for races later in the day.
I give Noonan a slight edge. He has looked really good this season and has had a really good kick. That being said it is hard to rule out Dybdahl, Fasthorse and others. Should be fun to watch.
Noonan's kick is very good, but in a shorter race like the 1600m, I think Dybdahl's is slightly better. If the race is a little slow and becomes "who can go furthest under 60 on the last lap", then I go with Dybdahl. If it is a speed+strength that ends up around 4:03, then I go with Noonan.
I would love to see Sadie mix it up and get in some more competitive 3200 and 800 races. I am curious about what her 2 mile time could be.
she said she is likely to run the 800 at Brooks this year. Ince was looking for her unprecedented 4th title in a row so that should be an interesting match up.

When did Sadie say that she is "likely" to run the 800 at Brooks?
Every time I begin to worry LetsRun is losing its edge, there’s a thread about high school runners that disintegrates into posts about conjoined twins and a pissing match about spelling to restore my faith.

Good points on Dybdahl. He has a good chance.
In the d3 1600, Manny Perez is a strong favorite but I wouldn't rule out Liam Papavasiliou

She said it on a podcast posted to youtube in the last few days. The production quality was poor so I'd pass on watching / listening.

That's odd. Engelhardt just entered Brooks PR in the mile but she also says she is likely to run the 800? Then why not just enter the 800 in the first place?
In any case, I hope Engelhardt does end up running the 800 instead of the mile at Brooks PR. Engelhardt vs Ince in the 800 is a good race. Engelhardt in the mile is a blowout, especially with Jane Hedengren running the 2 mile.
