thanks, I don't know why people on here are so rude for no reason, like I just want some advice, and people just hate??? Some random (oc anonymous user) comes at me for asking for advice, this place has some toxic losers
yep, kinda sad a website about something as enjoyable as RUNNING is full of toxic hating people (not everyone though, some people give excellent advice)
I'm sure a lot of the people have their own reasons for being rude or angry or impatient or frustrated, but even if everyone tried to give their best advice, half of it would be contradictory so it'd be impossible to listen to everyone anyway.
Anyway, maybe find the least hate filled thread and update us on how things progress. Wish you the best.
What's hate filled about telling someone to quit whining?
This is like the 5th thread this person has created about how she's 2 minutes faster that her teammates, and her coach is holding her back by not letting her run with the boys? She's been told multiple times that nothing is holding her back and plenty of people train on their own.
You've been told countless times - the greats train alone, no single workout is a miracle, it's completely up to you.
The greats almost all train in groups and most have robust support systems. The idea that anyone great 'does it alone,' is what narcissists who've had the most possible help say.
If you truly want to be good, stop posting here, stop looking for an excuse, and just put in the hard work.
Tons of people post here for advice why is she the one that has to stop. I'm sorry every high school kid doesn't have the world figured out, but the only thing you said that is right is "stop posting here," and that's because this place is a hate filled cesspool (even more towards women) and she probably needs to talk to an adult who's at least semi well adjusted.

Don't take it personal and don't make it personal. Just expect the haters to come out and look for the gems that can help you.
Maybe I shouldn't have deleted the thread explaining I am not allowed to train on my own...I have to train with my teammates on runs....you know what? I like my team, thankfuul for them, just wish I could train alone.
There's nothing stopping you from running in front your teammates on runs. There's nothing stopping you from running on your own outside of practice. Do you live with your coach?
Believe it or not, you aren't the first and only person that is/was way better than their teammates. In fact, most really good runners are much better than their teammates. And, most, if not all, realized that they needed to challenge themselves beyond their coaches recommendation.
I'm not trying to be a jerk. I'm just letting you know that the sooner you figure that out, they sooner you will start to improve.
I appreciate your comment. the problem is, if my coach finds out I'm running outside of practice, he yells at me. It's a small town, hard to run extra without getting caught. I am not allowed to run extra, he has made that clear. For the entire season. Once again, context.
Thanks you! This is literally ALL I have been saying. people are just sour. The great DON'T train alone, look at all the top marathoners. I don't want to 'train alone'. And they tell me to stop ' asking for advice' on a website literally MADE for asking for advice! Like shut up

This is your journey, not his. Sometimes you have to piss people off.
are you delusional? Yes, it's my journey, but I WILL get kicked off the team and won't be allowed to run at meets if I disobey him! That's like telling a basketball player to just randomly into a game when they aren't allowed to because it's 'their journey'. listen to yourself

No it's not. Do you think good basketball players don't practice shooting outside of practice? They practice all the time without a coach.
You're his best runner, by a wide margin. He's not going to kick you off the team for trying to get better. If he does go above him.
Or, just keep complaining on Letsrun and do nothing about it. It's up to you.
I would setup a meeting time with your coach to ask him what you can do to be a better runner? What kind of extra training would he suggest to improve your times. You have posted what he has told you but I would try to put it in his hands to see what he says before you go around him.
To David dipple- Also why would you care if I've created multiple threads? truth hurts: Do you have NOTHING better to do with your life than harass a high school girl? You can't admit you lost the argument, because I HAVE no WAY I can run extra, so my coach is in the wrong. bye

what do you mean by go above him? join the closest team (which is hours away)???
I mean that if you've been respectful and not confrontational and he kicks you off the team solely for trying to get better, then appeal it to a higher authority - athletic director etc.
I don't think it will get that far. Because he wont kick you off the team. You need to shift your focus away from the coach and onto yourself.

Nothing good will come from your continuing to spend time here. All of this is an exercise in circular arguments. You need to sit down and talk to your coach. That is the only solution. You need to understand each other's point of view.
he literally told me, "You run extra, you're off." What part of that sounds false to you? He means it, he is stern, he will do it, I won't be able to be on the team, I'll lose everything. And It doesn't matter if you are not trying to be a jerk, because you are being one. telling me I'm the jerk for wanting to work hard, I'm pathetic, etc, thanks. You should be proud of yourself.

You've created the same thread multiple times. You've received the same advice multiple times.
Many people have told you, you're going to have to do it on your own. You don't seem to want to accept that.
Are you just looking for someone to tell you your coach is an idiot? He probably is. But, how does that help you?
