2023 revenue of NB is higher than On, Hoka and Brooks combined. More importantly NB in 2023 had a 23% growth. (source: finance.yahoo.com)
Brooks only 5%. The other two both in the 50ish %.
For sure Hoka and On currently are growing fast.
But for the moment I think NB is doing just fine.
Easy to grow when you are small. Nike growth is low I. Relative terms. They added more sales though than Hokas total. And all sales are tough to figure out given even reports stuff differently and it tough to tease out shoes versus apparel at a lot companies.
New balance definitely isn’t struggling. Companies like ASICS and Mizuno are more regional and niche. Have no clue how brooks and Saucony survive😂
I think Hoka is the only brand that is selling well in the brands you mentioned. I think Saucony is doing the worst probably. Brooks is probably doing okay. That is my guess from what other runners are wearing and the discounts I have seen on the shoes.
On and Hoka are "sport style" shoes for people doing workout classes/yoga / a few runs here and there. NB Lifestyle (mainly 990, 574) shoes are super popular as well.
Don't see too many Saucony, Asics or Brooks other than on runners.
Sorry but Hoka is popular among runners nowadays. NB is for 70+ American tourists. And as an FYI, On soes are damn ugly and you’re clueless to say they’re yoga shoes since yoga is practiced barefoot 😂
You need to travel some… NB pulled in over $2B alone in Europe last quarter purely on retro shoes being worn by everyone from Gen Z to Millennial right now. Brand is super hot which of course will fade when the next trend emerges. Here in the States, nothing is touching the Adidas Samba trend, taking over the majority of high schools in America right now and driving their resurgence.

There is a whole style/market towards the upper middle class people that do workout classes/yoga/spinning/HIIT etc.. for example Lululemon, ALO, Vuori and a I have noticed that a lot of these people have started buying On's, probably for the neutral colours and unique look.
Yea Hoka is popular among serious runners but it has become much more popular in the general athletic market as well.
Regarding NB ... How old are you? Have you seen how many young people wear NBs ? The 990 "dad style" shoe is hot right now and the 574 is a classic that tons of people wear as an everyday lifestyle shoe

I've been noticing more Brooks where I live as casual/walk around shoes. On are becoming more popular, too.
You're all crazy. Altra Escalante 2 is the best feeling and best looking running/lifestyle/casual, it's so comfortable it's unreal.
Every time one of my athletes forgets their running shoes, I swap shoes with them and they're like, "OMG, these feel amazing!"
They're great to lift in too. I've got a lot of runners and lifters switching to Altra. The extra toe space is not gimmicky. More people than you think have a wide toe box/short toes. Altras feel amazing for those people who have gotten used to having their toes constricted.
I get that some people feel they're swimming in them because they have thin feet, they're not for you, that's okay. They're really great for others.
