But that doesn't diminish Tuohy's accomplishments. She still was one of the best high school and college runners ever even if not as fast as Valby or Kohl.

How about we wait and see how her pro career goes first? As I recall she started college the same way, was written off, then had a great college career.
No races while she's watching her NCAA records get annihilated.
As I’ve said many times, over many years:
Tuohy has been “written off” as done on these boards many times over the years. Every single time, she comes back and sets records.
Every
Single
Time
So, we all know she’s dealing with a hamstring injury currently. When she comes back, she’ll be firing on all cylinders and do very well as a beginner Pro.
This thread disgusts me and I've moved it to registered users only. Why?
I don't think the OP is being sincere with his question and he/she is just taking glee in kicking one of Anerica's great talents while she injured for the first time in years.
The OP acts like if she hadn't gone pro she'd be injured and going for NCAA records right now. I imagine Tuohy is acutally thinking, "Thank God I went pro when I did." She accomplished basically all there is to do in college running and now is set financially for the rest of her life. If the OP was being sincere, he'd have started a thread on whether adidas regrets giving her a buttload of $$. That thread would be harsh but is more genuine than this trolling, let's kick an all-time talent while their down thread.
I really don’t get the piling on with Tuohy. Did most of you not compete in distance running, and not know that other elite runners have suffered injuries that have derailed training for several months?
On LR, if someone is racing well, the sky is the limit and they’re on their way to winning an Olympic medal. If not, their career is over and they are a bad person as well.

+1.
Glad you guys from LRC realized, that 99% of all disgusting posts here come from unregistered users! They are cowards, haters and envious people, have nothing to say and hide behind.
And Millrose, and any early season meet (even Adidas' road to records), etc
Raleigh also isn't an expensive area at all - you pretend like she bought property in San Francisco or in a nice part of Brooklyn / Manhattan
tell me what % of college graduates immediately have the $ to buy a home, even in the Raleigh area which while not uber expensive is probably about the US average depending on exactly where/what she bought.
I don’t wanna sound like I’m hating on this young woman, but I remember reading she had a 27s 200 on an indoor relay. So her 200m time is maybe 28+ seconds. Great distance runners have three great qualities, great running economy, exceptional aerobic strength, and SOME basic speed. This girl is missing the basic speed. Having 57-58 second 400m speed puts you at a disadvantage in every distance except the marathon. She’s another woman’s American 5th place semifinalist almost finalist at every world championship/ Olympics. That’s the potential I see.

Not a horrible career, imo. Very few professional athletes ever make a Worlds/Olympic team.
