Dumb. She’s not taking testosterone because a) she’s not transitioning nor has ever expressed a desire to and b) of course, it’s a banned substance that she’s tested for. 54.40 isn’t surprisingly fast for an 800/1500 woman.
Not transitioning but affirming her gender to not be a women. and no duh she’s tested for it, that’s what a TUE is for. So she can be tested for it and get around it
54.4 for a 1500 woman is fast. Outside of Mu, the Olympic champion and 1:54 800 meter runner- what other 1500 American women have ran that kind of time?
In high school, Wiley split a 57.03 at the state meet 4x400 only 20 minutes after running a 10:38, which was 25 minutes after running a 2:06, which was about an hour after running a 4:38. Her PRs at the time were only 2:04.4 and 4:38.0
54.4 is not unusual at all for 800/1500 runners of that caliber.

Just gotta correct you she plans to transition:
Where Hiltz once loved seeing other trans people on social media documenting their journeys with top surgery or hormone replacement therapy, those videos are now a point of sadness, knowing that it is not currently possible for them. “Going to the Olympics is such a dream of mine,” Hiltz says. “But it’s also such a dream of mine to take testosterone or grow facial hair or have top surgery, and so I think sometimes I can really resent this sport.” So many athletes struggle when they retire, not knowing who they are or what they are going to do with their time. But not Hiltz: “I know exactly what I’m gonna do. I can take testosterone.”
For the first openly non-binary USATF champion, living as their authentic self has catapulted their running to a whole new level. The sport is still catching up.
just got back from the Oxy Invite. Really fun. stood on the track right near the NAU section. everyone on the team super friendly, not an ounce of ego. people asked for selfies all night and they obliged. talked to Coach Smith a bit, very down to earth, exactly how he comes off in videos, though he never told me to go to sleep.
Diljeet Taylor was there with her pro team, Wayment/Morgan/Camp Bennett. Morgan pretty much ran the 5000 by herself, Elly Henes, Wayment, and Bennett paced her.
if track and field is a niche sport NAU are about as rock stars as it gets. it was overall a laid back, subdued meet until the 1500 with Sahlman/Nico and the pros. Every athlete and coach stood track side in awe. some Big West coaches stared at their watches, incredulous at the splits.
And Sean Brosnan was there.

Hmmmm….three pacers…when did the pacers drop? Any idea how the initial pacing compared to her final time?

Thanks for the report.
not sure, looks like they were just getting some work in. Elly won the 1500 then laid in the infield listening to her headphones. I thought she was done, then suddenly she pops up and starts warming up with Diljeets team.
Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone’s time of 22.38 today slips under her previous PB.
12.71 in the 100H and 22.38 in the 200 is not a bad early May afternoon at a sleepy little meet. Syd looking like she will be ready to kick ass later this summer when it counts.

Wondering the same. Did they go longer than 3k? Wish there were splits. 15:06 is decent considering she has been rehabbing her way back.
Wasn’t the last US 1500 star to run that fast in the 400 Houlihan? testosterone for gender transition/confirmation really doing good

Nikki is non-binary, not trans, there's no transitioning and therefore no need to take testosterone

Non-binary IS trans. Trans just means you don't identify with your birth sex. And they have clearly said they want to take testosterone for the masculinizing effects, but they can't as a professional athlete. Honestly, is reading comprehension really that hard?
