It works both ways. Do you really think that the standard of scientific testing and analysis is as great in Kenya as in the USA or Germany, when the only WADA approved lab in Africa was shut down earlier this month for incompetence?
Less than five months before the Paris Olympic Games, the World Anti-Doping Agency suspended the activities of the only approved analysis laboratory in Africa at the end of the day on Monday.
Yes it does Hoady. Learn to read. Flawed analysis and non-compliance. Sound pretty incompetent to me.
Actually a lab can lose its accreditation for a multitude of reasons. Faulty equipment that can't be repaired or replaced, lack of qualified staff, etc.
According to the article it says that there were "flaws in an analysis method aimed at detecting steroid use by athletes." I wish the article would be more clear about what those flaws were.
If they were actually concerned about integrity "in the run up to the Paris Olympics" they'd specifically target every medal threat from every country or everyone with a certain mark achieved in the last X years, and not a bunch of Kenyans who aren't going to make a final.
Forget the final, they won't make any Kenyan teams.
AIU chief Brett Clothier is in Kenya to ensure that the country is fulfilling its anti-doping promises in the run up to the Paris Olympics. He notes that while cases have actually fallen in 2023 compared to 2022, doping cheats are finding new methods and substances to avoid detection. In particular, they are moving to a new form of EPO called 'serum'.
I find it hillarious that anyone would think that Kenyans are using the above named substance and Europeans are not. Was this substance invented in Kenya and is only available in Kenya ?
What is Brett Clothier doing to ensure the obvious British dopers who pop out of nowhere to beat Ingebrigtsen are not doping ?

So fast = dirty?
That's pretty bad for the last few decades of dominance from East Africa, isn't it?

Or European managers and coaches will get their hands on it. Most of the gear is available in Kenya already.
Yes I foresaw AIU chief Brett's findings actually just didn't find occasion to say it without people calling me insane and mad you know???
Look I always knew Eliud Kipchoge is the world's most uncaught doper but had no objectively effective way of proving so to you folks and only my subjective foresight and intuition to show for which of course you folks would never wanna find sufficient enough right???
Now with Brett's findings I'm another step closer to realizing my dream almost that Kipchoge is a doper!!! Kiptum Kelvin is already a proven doper by logical deduction of sexual immorality and alcohol binging!!!

I fully concur sir!!!!!! I like your take, it's subjective but with a touch of class and elegance!!!!! I don't particularly like objective methods of testing for doping because I too find them quite dumb (dead end or cul-de-sac).

The drugs are probably all made in USA and Europe, and shipped or flown to Kenya. There'd be no sport/track and field at a high level in western nations if all the dopers were caught.
Substitute “Kenya” with pretty much any country in the world. Such is the sorry state of distant running. I would bet that nearly everyone toeing the line in any final of any world or Olympic (minus the marathon) race knows the system.

Why not the Marathon? They are all clean because it's your favorite?

No - because they don’t have qualifying rounds. Not 100% at the Olympics are on something. But if you’ve made it to a final through multiple rounds (some athletes in multiple events) in one of the most infamously ped riddled sports on the planet - writing is on the wall. I guess the 10000m no longer has rounds so I guess there could be a couple athletes there as well.
