Keith has had a stunning progression. What does she do for training? Who is her coach?
5k
2021 16:10
2022 15:53
2023 14:56
10k debut
2024 30:36 (14:42 5k equivalent)
For context - She would not have even made NCAA outdoors in 2022 for 5k, but a year later would be shattering the CR. She would have beaten Lisa Kolls 10k CR by over 40 seconds!
I compared Keith's progression with Chloe Scrimgeour's 5k trajectory the past few years:
early 2022 16:10
early 2023 15:49
early 2024 15:21
From the point at which both held 16:10 pbs, similar progress over 12 mos, then significant separation the following year. Explanations?
Doping is the only explanation - there is no other. It isn't possible that anyone can improve more than anyone else, since everyone is the same talent level and everyone follows identical training programs. That is just a biological truism. So Astro is correct, the only answer to any improvement, other than Tuohy, is doping. However, if she runs sub-14 minutes next year, then all is good, that is just her. For the Valbyites, her progression is also unassailable. The NCAA is like Trump - beyond impeachment, they would never lie or obstruct the truth. That is just the way it is. American moral authority trumps all other nationalities when it comes to honesty. That is beyond dispute. There is no such thing as bribery in America. That is the result of the superior education that Americans receive unlike the rest of the world.
If you believe they're all doping, then why are you here posting all the time? Why follow the sport of track and field at all? You really want to waste all your time on a "doping sport"? Doesn't seem very smart of you to do that.
It was orienteering rather than fell running. She was a junior champion
Orienteering? Crazy events like the Barkley Marathons?
Not really. They aren't stupidly long events like Barkley. You're given a map and have to find numbered control gates in order. Most of the courses I've seen are in forests
Follow the final Swedish League race of Axel Granqvist. Axel is a very talented orienteer who actually placed second in the cup for guys below 24 this year a...
Thanks for the post. With experience in tough events like these and her emerging track speed, it's not hard to imagine Keith becoming a fast and fearless steeplechaser someday. Do you know if she has maintained a consistent level of orienteering training the past 2-3 years?
