Would be very surprised to see Fogg medal but if he does would be very happy. Seems like a great guy from his videos. Doubt he has the finishing speed to be up with the best, but let's wish him the best. After his fall, in the heat, he got up and wasted energy in rejoining the leaders and even briefly leading before fading. For the final, can finish top 5, I think, in a fast race, 3:32-3:34 type race ...but suspect it might be tactical and won in 3:37-3:39. In a last lap in 52-53 (tactical race) seconds...he would not be able to match that type of speed, I think.

I don't know. I thought Hobbs ran a nice low risk Q'er to get thru. i had 1:51.x for last 800?
Adding two to the field makes it harder to navigate a bunch of stuff
14 is too many , and i doubt we see this get strung out in a very honest pace, hope I am wrong
I will be surprised if the medals will not be found between these 6.
So I disagree especially regarding Beamish, Nader and Lumb.
Nader is still young. He might get his final breakthrough this year. He was 1:45.32 in the 800m and 3:31 in the 1500m last year.
I, however, agree that the 2 Americans and Nordås must be the foremost contenders for medals BUT ALSO AGREEING THAT THERE POSSIBLY WILL BE SURPRISES AS THERE ALMOST ALWAYS ARE.
I want Fogg to win but he is not experienced enough indoors tactically. This isn't the only time he has fallen at the start of a race, his running style is too big for the tight indoor track for him to run unimpeded. When he ran 3.49, he had a clear run in lane one. Not impossible to get a medal depending on how the race is run. If it's bunched up and slow then that will work against him.
Kessler seems like a good tactician plus he's obviously good. I think he can steal a medal.
