Unintelligent, gullible people have been fed misinformation by the "news media" arm of the corporate, far-right for decades. Those people were conned into violently storming the Capitol and turning a blind eye to over 90 criminal indictments (zero against his opponent, but witch hunt/FBI weaponization/etc., right?).
People like you will be examined in future generations as individuals that contributed to the slow decline of the United States as a global power and leader of the free world. It is frustrating that you can't see it. The rest of this country is trying desperately to fight against the billions that have been poured into rotting your brain to support foreign and corporate interests.
The court needs to clarify the 14th amendment. Since it was ratified, it’s been virtually unthinkable that the insurrection clause would ever have to be invoked to disqualify a candidate, and so there is no legal guidance on how to apply it. Based on Trump’s actions (read the full Smith indictment), I think it’s appropriate in this case, but it’s easy to see why SCOTUS is skeptical and will likely rule that state court judges cannot just assert their individual discretion to disqualify candidates without any formal procedure or standards. I imagine the Colorado judges expected as much, but wanted to force the process.
It's truly sad how ignorant and angry the average LR poster is.
Anyone who thinks Trump is a "fascist" is too stupid to be voting at all.
Please, PLEASE do your research on fascist tyrants in recent history. Explain to me the difference.
Exactly. They're anti-migrant, anti-LGBT, anti-feminism, anti-civil rights, anti-leftwing, pro-nationalist, pro-traditionalism. Many claim to be from the lower-middle class or own small businesses or farms which was the social group that formed the bulk of the fascist movement.
I can't see any fascist trope that isn't present somewhere in Trump's movement. They're not Nazis but they would be at home in Mussolini's original fascist party.

The ONLY things missing in the story-line from Trump's fascist endeavors is mass genocide or some kind of brutality. It will come if he's elected again.

Joe Biden has displayed more fascist behavior than Trump did.
Biden has been weaponizing the government to attack his political rivals his entire term. Pro-life senior citizens are being treated worse than the drug cartels and Biden is violating the constitution to send them to prison.
Biden has put parents on the FBI terrorist watch list for complaining about the school providing their 11 year old's with pornography.
Biden addressed the nation flanked by Marines and openly declared that Republicans were "enemies of the state".
Biden is working to have his primary political opponent removed from the ballot.
Biden's administration is working with corrupt DAs to bring the most absurd charges against his political opponent to try to subvert the 2024 election.
What did Trump do that was "fascist"? He didn't stage an insurrection he complained about an obviously compromised election. He followed legal channels to contest it and failed. The law he tried to use was literally rewritten so it couldn't be interpreted the way he tried to use it. This alone proves it wasn't an insurrection.
Jan 6 was a riot nothing more. At no point was the government in danger of being overthrown.
Please, PLEASE do your research on fascist tyrants in all of human history and list the fascist tyrants who peacefully left office after one term. Fascists don't hand over the controls willingly. Trump did. Biden is making every effort not to.

Please read a little history and see if you can learn what "insurrection" meant to someone in the 19th century when the 14th amendment was written.
In no universe is what happened in 2020/2021 even remotely an insurrection.
Willingly?!?! What planet do you live on? This is why it is difficult to converse with people like you. You literally live in a completely different reality than most of the rest of you countrymen.
Republican run states have passed laws that prevent "certain types of people" from being on ballots. In FL those laws are extended to write-ins. Trump is one of those types – he fits the bill, having lost several court cases.
This is a nothinghamburdur. No a**holes allowed on the ballot.

Did he not leave office when he was supposed to?
Trump is leading in the polls.
You have no idea what your "countrymen" think you just know what people who agree with you think.
