Sorry, my bad. I stumbled across the 2023 flash entries and results for SEC indoor championships and only looked at entries. Anyway, Gators entries should be posted on Gatorzone.com on Thursday.
Here is a question. How badly does FL want to qualify a DMR for Nationals? They are in top 12 as of now - but barely and UVA and VA Tech among others could displace them unless they improve their time. Do they run Parker in DMR and 3000 and skip this 5000?
Gators have much more depth than in the past. Portal transfer from Alabama recently ran a 4:26 mile. They have several good 800 runners and 400 meters sprinters. If Alabama girl runs the 1200 and Valby anchor, Florida's DMR would be able compete with the best. We'll know what the plans are Thursday.

Valby is no lock to run 4:26 or better. She's not a speedster and her pr at mile is something like 4:35 from last years dmr.
For points FL prob better to have Valby pick up sure 16-20 points in the 3/5 double and let the current dmr team give the relay a shot.

all you say is true, but first thing first do they want to make sure they qualify the dmr (and Valby in 3000)? If so, then the DMR/3000 double at the SEC meet is the way to go. As far as how fast their DMR might be, their current mark is 3:20/0:52.5/2:05.7/4:34 for 10:52 with Asekol on the anchor. Asekol now seems much faster than 4:34 and might get them down to 10:44 area. But putting her on leadoff and Valby on anchor might get them down close to 10:40. My concern would be Valby's lack of experience in running a 1600. She would need to get the pace right. For maximum points at NCAA the safest way would be Valby doing the 5000/3000 double, and hope the DMR team could get down to 10:44 without her.
It appears that Valby has switched to the sprints. Who else was aware that Valby secretly won the Big 10 title in the 400m last spring? Or that she is from High Point, NC?

Based on her workouts, Valby should have a realistic 1600 time to shoot for and the resulting splits. It shouldn’t be difficult for her.
Gator Bait, I can see Asekol in DMR 3:15, and Valby around 4:28. Valby would be with the leaders when she gets the stick and get dragged to a fast split. That would put the Gators near the front and a 10:40 finish. I think her previous DMR split was 4:34(?) last year. BTW, Go Gators!!!

What would be the incentive for Florida winning the DMR vs the 5000m? Are the relays generally valued at higher points?

As if you actually know her workouts; you post nonsense.
Individual wins and relays are 10 points. 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1
It seems PV doing the 3/5 double instead of the DMR double would likely yield the most team points, not considering other factors (e.g., injury, recovery, records, etc.)

But would a Parker Valby 3/5/DMR triple yield the most points?!? 👀
Prove it. I think Parker Valby is injured an not going to race. She hasn't raced since December, all the other healthy runners have at least one or two races since then.
