The issue with Joe Rogan is that he rarely pushes back on what his guests are claiming. He basically just says everything is interesting or fascinating. When guests are espousing idiotic ideas, I find that unlistenable.
I think it’s probably more about the association with the stereotypical ‘Rogan fan’ than the podcast itself. Sort of like grown dudes who are really into My Little Pony- maybe they’re otherwise cool people who happen to like something I don’t particularly enjoy, but I’ve met enough that are kind of weird to be a little wary of that, especially if I’m basing my impression off a tinder profile or something where I don’t know a lot else about them. ‘Red flag’ is more of a cautionary ‘oh this dude might be a bit weird’ than ‘you are automatically a bad person’ IMO.

He's trying to understand and you just want your bias confirmed.
It's just a conversation that may or may not be interesting or entertaining. I'm a scientist and know more than Rogan on a few topics, but that's mostly irrelevant. If he interviews Hulk Hogan, for example, nothing is compelling me to believe every story or adopt any of the opinions expressed. I don't feel any danger of becoming a flat earther if I listen to the wrong guest.
The notion that nobody should listen to Joe Rogan because he's stupid is the precise inverse of the most effective truth-seeking system humans ever created.
The most effective truth-seeking system humans ever created is science. There is nothing scientific about giving a platform to conspiracy theorists. Science relies on evidence found in novel testable predictions. Rogan's a snakeoi ... I mean ... daily focus supplement salesman. That's all you need to know about Joe Rogan and how he relates to the "most effective truth-seeking system humans ever created."
No, science is one aspect of a much larger philosophical system, that being liberalism. It’s based on a few key premises. One is that all humans are fallible, even the smartest ones. Another is that all humans have the capacity to make observations and use rationality to understand the world. Also, our knowledge about the world is almost certain to be flawed. Finally, if all of us humans use observations and evidence to test our truth claims against one another in a public forum, we will slowly move toward a more accurate grasp on reality. Scientific experiments are a piece of this more encompassing system. They are not the system itself, since there are matters of truth that aren’t amenable to testing and falsification via experiments.
Joe Rogan models the curiosity and humility upon which this system depends.
Regardless of how you define it, I don't think one of its tenants is giving an unchallenged platform to charlatans and/or being a charlatan yourself, selling magic brain supplements for profit.

Wrong!!!! The "experts" are never wrong and always have our best interests in mind, so we need to always listen to them and silence everyone who disagrees. Yay conformity!!!
In addition to the crackpot dissidents, he also brings on the greatest scientific thinkers alive today. That never gets mentioned though, by the haters who've probably never even listened to an episode.
Girls don’t know what they want. One guy could say he likes Joe Rogan and that girl says red flag and next. Another guy who she finds more attractive to her could say that and she wouldn’t care.
it’s more so an excuse to stop talking to that guy than a true rule

No, but one of the tenets is that imperfect people are sometimes correct. Even stupid, immoral people can make arguments that either move us in a more accurate direction or help us to sharpen our thinking by pressing us to make better arguments.
It's good to be skeptical about things you read and hear. I do think there has been a trend where certain individuals disbelieve any and all establishment information. I don't think being a contrarian is equitable to healthy skepticism. Since Joe hosts a lot of people who hold alternate views, I think (or at least it seems like) a lot of contrarians gravitate to his programming.
