This is crazy, honestly. 13th at worlds in a 2:11:21 and he's automatically put on a pedestal? He is on the B team. That’s the whole reason he ran at worlds. Our best runners didn’t opt to run at worlds.
Jared Ward was 6th at the Olympics in 2:11:30 and we all know he’s not the best in the US.
what's the point in running if you don't want to compete against the best in the world?
Some people enjoy running for their country more than showing up at Berlin, London,… and competing against the best in the world. Nothing wrong with that. No real need to run with the best in the world when you are a mile back…
Leave this poor man alone. People have turned him into a villain for competing well at worlds and having good workouts? Everything the guy actually says is humble. All he said is he’s excited for the race and to compete for a spot. Leave the guy allloooonnnneeeee
You have to be kidding? Bronze at Worlds misses out while 8th in the same race makes the ten. I have only ever one bigger oversight: one poster in here listed the 1000 athletes everyone should know a few years ago and missed one of the greatest 400 runner to ever run, Marie-Jose Perec.
I was most surprised by Fauble’s number 2 ranking.
Also, assuming he finishes in the top 3 at the trials, does Fauble have a WA approved sub 2:11:30 if he doesn’t qualify by World Ranking and doesn’t run sub 2:11:30 at the trials.
I think the biggest “lock” prediction is that the top 3 all are faster than 2:11:30. Orlando heat and humidity included. I’ll say top 10 under 2:11:30 at least.

This. Just because he uses a sauna blanket doesn't mean he's #2 in the US.
Consider this: Rupp spends a minimum of 18 hours a day in a sauna blanket, inside an altitude tent.

It is a legitimate question about whether Fauble has the 2:11:30 standard.
Remember, in the 2016 LA Trials, Jared Ward made the Team with a 2:13:00 and everyone except the top three ran positive splits despite the pack going through the half in a modest 1:06:31.
he may not have been top 5 but he was darn close to winning the whole thing. goat in my mind and he has serious potential in the future for fast times.

Congrats on the rankings. Everyone has an opinion. I am interested to hear some more, even about the world top ten.
I think Kamworor did enough to get a place in the ten. Second in London ahead of Tola, Leul, and Tura with Bekele not able to get to the 30k marker
Should be named for a return to London and another podium could keep his name before national selectors. I was amazed to read his marathon results at ages 19, 20, and 21 in Berlin. Long time ago
