But this is what I'm puzzled about: their cars were parked out in front of the house on the street. The home owner claims they often leave their cars there. If true, that's abnormal. But let's just say it is something that regularly happens. I'd have to assume they 4 men were close. Close enough for them to feel OK with this arrangement. Folks this close would check in on one another. The home owner is claiming ignorance, but it just doesn't make a lot of sense considering some of the details.
this kind of thing happens relatively frequently in really cold parts of the world. there are at least a few deaths every year where I'm from - usually drunk young people who get separated from their friends and then fall asleep in the snow and die from hypothermia. Sometimes they seem suspicious but usually it's as mundane as someone who had too much to drink and passed out and died from the cold.
This.

And, if someone ubered home, I'd think they'd each come back the next day to get their car. The survivor/homeowner didn't get concerned that none of them did, for more than 2days?

One death? Yeah someone got drunk and passed out. 3? that seems like a bad batch of drugs. Maybe they went out back to smoke some joint that was laced with fentanyl. Guy inside passes out drunk. And I have definitely gone a couple days without looking in my backyard…
This is what happens when you get back out drunk and maybe mixing with drugs. It just happened to be so cold outside it could Mill someone. I’ve woken up in some weird places and seen people sleeping in even weirder places. Thankfully it wasn’t cold. Sucks
It is also odd how this all took place on a Sunday night… and even one’s fiancé didn’t think to call or check on him for two days?? you didn’t get worried after Monday night when your fiancé didn’t come home, etc… why didn’t she go to the friends house Monday?

First guess is that it was a batch of coke that was contaminated with fentanyl. Doesn't explain why they would be outside tho. Joints being laced with fentanyl (or anything, really) is highly implausible, but this is a super bizarre situation so who knows.
Maybe they went to smoke PCP and that was laced? Doesn't seem like that would be their drug of choice, tho.

it’s all very odd.
It’s even more odd because there would be no motive for the survivor to murder his friends. If he found them out in the back yard, he would have called 911. I tend to believe his story.
Sounds like a case of heavy drugs plus alcohol mixed with frigid conditions. It wouldn't take long to die of hyperthermia if you venture outside and pass out.
Unless new information comes to light, it doesn't sound like foul play considering the state the homeowner was found in when the police arrived and he made zero apparent effort to conceal anything.

Wouldn’t go to back yard to do some coke. That screams smoke break. Granted there is no reason why they aren’t mixing a couple drugs together. But there is no way I am betting that this tox screen comes back clean….

What's puzzling is the latest article indicates at least one of their coats were still inside the house. Why would you go out back and smoke without putting on your coat when it's that cold?
I find it pretty unlikely three people OD'd at once, and not just that, but also for the fourth guy to ignore it and not seek help sooner.
Groups of people OD’ing relatively simultaneously due to a bad batch of drugs is more common than you are suggesting, especially in the time of fentanyl. Certainly more than multiple people blacking out simultaneously from alcohol. What do you find to be more likely?

It is correct to a degree. The fiancee didn't attempt his cell phone, for some odd reason chose FB messenger.
I don’t know that we have the facts on who did or didn’t text as that is in dispute based on conflicting stories from Willis and the 5th friend in attendance.
