“I’m trying to convince my coaching team” like Danny Mackey is the one telling him he can’t run a straight final 3k in March without risking his entire chance in Paris. Nobody believes that, just race or don’t.
As someone who dislikes Jakob I find all of this very entertaining, but I'll admit that Kerr isn't doing himself any favors by talking like this. Saying that Jakob "has some flaws in the manners realm" is a wild quote lol
I've never seen a news source that fellates itself more than letsrun. If an athlete mentions it in an interview, it's guaranteed front page news. This Kerr interview contains nothing new or noteworthy other than a letsrun reference.
He's sticking to his guns re:Jacob. still not ruling out world indoors.
Plenty of Let's Run references.
Sounds like a boxer. Good interview

Reading the entire article, I don't sense a Josh Kerr who isn't trying to look for any ground to cover to beat Jakob in Paris. He did a double Christmas run? Employed a full-time chef and didn't really celebrate his budapest success all that much?
It really does seem like this Josh Kerr we all know is going to pounce on and devour my RF and EMF knowledge sphere like a piece of meat because he will possess any and every advantage he can possibly find naturally. Someone therefore needs to put me, Khamis the RF King in contact with Josh Kerr ASAP because this is the type of insatiable athlete I want to work with. I don't know Jakob at this point in 2024 is that hungry as Josh. Would Jakob accept my RF and EMF advice and go for broke all out to smash his mobile phone and his entourage's mobile phones to smithereens just to ensure it's a close fight all the way to the finish line in Paris? I don't sense it from Jakob because I only recall a lavish wedding party, a romantic honeymoon and its attendant sexual or otherwise indulgence and a seemingly endless feast after feast and just a glaring lack of defensive measures against that Olympic Gold in Paris!
Well somebody just bring Josh Kerr right in front of me now and I will work my RF magic with him free of charge henceforth. Or he could also employ me who knows?
I don’t agree that Kerr is on a higher level now than in the Olympics -the two guys who beat him there: Cheruiyot wasn’t in the 2023 WC final, and Jakob was obviously sick. And Josh ran slower in the WC final than he did in the Olympics…
Saying that he might become a Jakob rival, because he may have potential he hasn’t shown yet (maybe like Nuguse, who was well behind Jakob in all the Diamond leagues and WC, but nevertheless ran his stellar 3.43.97).

I was thinking about the two of them the other day and had an epiphany. Don't they kind of have the same personality? They both are extremely confident and tell the truth in interviews - they don't do what most atheltes do which is say something nice or polite that is watered down by a PR team so it doesn't offend anyone.
The only difference is Jakob likes to race all the time and Kerr doesn't and Kerr is 8k to 3k and Jakob if 1500 to marathon.
I do find it amazing that Kerr - whose podcast co-host was asking for memes to mock Jakob's loss - is complaining about Jakob's manners. Personally, I find both of them refreshing as compared to the average person who doesn't say what they truly believe in interviews.

The owners use every reference to this website (real or imaginary) to keep up their delusion that this website isn't just an irrelevant pigsty.

Scott Fauble said for our sport to go to the next level in relation to media and public interest, we need a villain. He said although he loves everyone in the sport, everyone is just too damn nice. In that respect, this is great for the sport.
Kerr will try leach off of Jakob again. too bad for him, when the moment comes to strike, Nuguse is going to blow the doors off of him. they will both have to work too hard to hold each other and Jakob will waltz through the tape solo.
Yared was definitely sick at worlds last year. Paris is going to be a brand new story.

Just now seeing this thread. Was too busy fellating myself.
If there hadn't already been a thread on this article which I just found out about and if Wejo hadn't already changed the thread title, I was going to start one under an anonymous name with the following title: "Josh Duck Duck Kerr: I am not scared to race anyone."
He's sticking to his guns re:Jacob. still not ruling out world indoors.

Josh has a problem Wightman hasn’t: A lot of us (including Jakob) thinks Kerr won because of Jakob’s sickness. And of course the former is pixxed, because it wasn’t his fault that the favourite couldn’t stay healthy, and to make it worse Jakob trash talked him by calling him”just the next guy” (just being honest in my opinion, but maybe even worse then)…
In my opinion Josh is entitled to trash talk back. But then he has to find something good, and (in my opinion) he hasn’t. -Jakob being high on himself is a bad argument, because the Norwegian has every reason to be high. And saying (by Kerr) that he doesn’t know who is the best in a time trial is just bs -Jakob clearly is. And saying that Jakob got flaws is somewhat strange -of course everybody has…
Kerr poses that Jakob is oblivious of his flaws. -Strange, because after losing for Wightman Jakob sad that it was a flaw not running faster on the third lap; it was a flaw to leave it to a sprint finish… And maybe alluding to Jakob’s front running as a not (of him) acknowledged flaw is also debatable -Jakob showed (on a bad day) in Silensia that he can front run nearly a whole 1500m race (didn’t follow the pacers, except for 150m behind MacSweyn) to 3.27.14. -Not sure so many can outkick him on the homestraight in such a fast pace. Just my two cents…
But the difference between Josh and Jakob is that Jakob never names his competitors. It's rare in an interview to hear him name another athlete. He seems to act as if they are all the same, just the 'next guy.'
Meanwhile, Josh seems to be obsessed with Jakob, talking about him and naming him as if he is God. It's pretty clear that Jakob lives rent free in Josh's head or he feels inferior.
Wrong. Jakob never trash talked after worlds and you cannot prove it.
I sort of agree with you here. But the point is that Kerr felt it was trash talking by Jakob (and who could blame him -not liking the situation. After all he won, fair and square, his greatest race).
