Same. Also surprised Parsons is in this field. The rest of the field is much higher caliber. Would be ridiculous if they selected him over Luis.
How is, say, Keita Sotoh “much higher caliber” than Sam Parsons?
Seito is 19 and ran 27:28.50 in November and a 59:22 half marathon en route to his 21.4km stage at Hakone this month. Interested to see what he does at Millrose. Heard he may be joining a Boulder group.

Cool. None of that makes him a much higher caliber entrant in an indoor 2 mile field.

He has a solid track record at 1500-5000, too. Granted, some of those performances are from when he was 17.
Pretty incredible for someone whose DOB is January 22, 2004.What's the age 17 US record for 1500 and 5000?Anyone know? He's already way faster than the US HS record for 5000 (Rupp 13:37.91) and onlyi behind Kessler on th...

Okay Sam go ahead and tell yourself that. Whatever helps you sleep at night.
On the Sit and Kick podcast, Kerr discussed Nuguse and almost sounded unsure as to why Yared is running the mile rather than the 2 mile, and they discussed whether they thought it was dodging. Kind of funny given that Yared is the one who is actually racing his primary event, not Kerr.

For sure and a mile WR is clearly more likely than a 2 mile WR
Don't know why people think Fisher will win this race when historically, against international fields, he almost always falls short. I'm a huge fan of Grant but unfortunately I don't think he has what it takes to deal with the pressure. Kerr will get the record in 8:02.13 and Fisher will finish second in a respectable 8:07.91.

Championships: 5th at the Olympics, 4th and 6th at Worlds
Diamond League: Monaco 7:28 (3rd), Brussels 12:46 (2nd), Zurich Final 13:01 (3rd), Zurich 12:54 (3rd), Eugene Final 7:25 (3rd)
Fisher is consistently one of the best 3k/5k/10k athletes in the world. In top shape he will bury Kerr over 2 miles. You have no idea what you’re talking about.
Of course Fisher must be the major favorite. His 3000m time is 8 seconds faster than Kerr´s.
To find Fisher´s 2 miles potential I would add about 34 seconds to his 3000m PB of 7:25.5 which gives a 2 mile time in around 7:59.5.
Kerr´s PB in the 3000m 7:33.5 equals around 8:08 in the 2 mile by adding 34.5 seconds. So he has to run significant faster than ever on these longer distances to get the WR.
I doubt any of them will realize their full potential but Fisher seems to be by far the best bet as a winner.

If not said in jest (and I don't care to check), Kerr must be the most insecure world champion ever.
