I agree that Uber is more for the low-end types. But I'm just saying, if you puke in a ride-share, it's not necessarily the end of your ride-share opportunities.
Fair, good point and sorry for my rudeness. You'll typically pay through the a$ on cleaning fees if you do that too so most times drivers won't totally kill you for it with a bad rating.
Rideshare users debating which service is more of a "cesspool" or "low end" -- while relating experiences among their acquaintances vomiting in cars.
Anyone ever get an email 'warning' from Lyft or Uber?
I received one and for the life of me cannot figure out why? I am courteous, thankful and always wish them safe driving. Could it be some driver bitched because I didn't tip enough or take the time to rate him?
Could be a scam or phishing email. Check the email address and see if it looks off. You gotta be careful opening emails from “Uber”, “Lyft”, “Amazon”, etc these days
Are you telling me I shouldn’t open the link that Oscar Flores from usps sent me saying that my package can’t be delivered?

Whoops.... so sending them my CC # and banking account info was a mistake? I just wanted to avoid a bad rating

Why do poor people feel like owning a car is a big accomplishment?
Not sure what you mean by poor people, though I know a lot of people who make enough to own a car in theory, but they live in expensive cities where the cost of living is so great that they can’t afford one, then they pretend they don’t really “need” one where they live while also looking down on people who live outside the cities for this and other reasons. And then they spent piles of money ordering an Uber/Lyft every time they need to go more than half a mile. But they don’t need a car, no sir.
If you live in mid Midtown Manhattan where are you going to park your car? A lot of condos and apts in dense city centers don't have parking. Rideshare and rentals for longer trips make more sense financially.
I have never in my life used one of these things. I almost did once, and remember the price was something outrageous for a trip I could easily make in 10 minutes without a car.
What a scam. Probably both drivers and passengers are getting shafted while the company rakes in huge bucks just for connecting them.
I once had an Uber driver lose it on me because I 'slammed the door'. I can say with certainty I did not close the door any harder than I have at any other time in my life. But this was in San Fran and I'm a straight, white, male... there was definitely hatred in the air from the moment I got into the car.
I had a driver in Miami curse me out for “slamming” the door. I closed it the same way I have closed every car door in my whole life. I still don’t get it.

The fact that you’re not interested in purchasing something at its current price point doesn’t make the good/service a scam.
I have a car, but I use Uber/Lyft whenever I’m going someplace that isn’t walkable or convenient to the subway if I expect parking to be a hassle. As for the price a) I’m a grownup with a job, so it’s not really a concern, and b) the costs of parking my own car at my destination would usually be about the same as the cost of the Lyft ride.
After a company "holiday" party in 2022, there was still an Uber mask mandate in the city where our HQ is located (for background, this was in the spring as we did not gather as a group in 2021). I do not live in this city, so I Ubered from the hotel to the party at an upscale restaurant they had rented for the occasion. On the way home, a few colleagues asked to ride back with me and one of the ladies was incredibly rude to the driver. Like, very rude and demanding. Refused to wear a mask even though it was required by both Uber and the city at the time. I opened my app and messaged him to apologize and explain that she was not "with" me and just worked at my company. I thought he would read it after the trip and possibly not blackball me from Uber. While we were driving, his text-to-voice started to play the message out loud in the car. It shut her up, the driver laughed, and we never discussed it afterwards.
