We don't live in a theocracy despite what Republicans believe, we have a separation of church and state for a reason. If you want a religious dictatorship look into moving Iran if you believe in that so strongly.
Due to campaign finance laws, U.S., U.S. is one of the most politically corrupt countries on Earth. Do politicians in Iran go from having negative net worth to net worth of greater than $25 million after 25 years in office? Happens regularly in U.S.
America glorifies alcohol (getting drunk daily on cheap beer), gluttony (fat guts and butts fed with fried fast food), gambling (lottery tickets, online slots, and sports betting with hopes of rising above poverty), and drugs (prescription opioids, meth, fentanyl, weed) to its destruction.
Honestly, this sounds like 90% of Trump rally goers. Does your statement only apply to Dem voters? Does attending church while you are doing all of this stuff absolve you?
You are part of the problem.
These things affe t everyone but you don't care because they hurt some people you don't like.

That doesn’t sound like the personal responsibility that you value so much.

You're joking, right?
There is no such thing as a relevant politician in Iran. Iran is a theocratic dictatorship. All power is held by whomever is the current god-pretender-in-chief.

And you can thank the U.S. State Department for orchestrating the Iranian revolution
They can and do. But to an above poster's point, our government actively encourages vices.
Why do you get to decide if something is a “vice”? What makes Draft Kings worse than target.com? What makes Coors Light worse than a grande caramel macchiato?

Those are the real issues politicians should be try to deal with. Every social issue I’ll is a mere reflection.
And... If this is what you are thinking about when you are out on a run, you clearly are not running hard enough. We need to change the name of this site to: "letshobbyjog"
Modern organized crime is directly rooted in the New York mob, and the cynical refusal of New Yorkers to annihilate it once and for all. They are proud of it.
If you think that's a joke, look at the movies. Most blockbusters about New York are about criminals. Godfather, Escape from NY, Wolf of Wall Street, Gangs of NY. They like and romanticize that tough guy image.

We do live in a theocracy, because Democrats ideology is just one big anti-science, anti-freedom, anti-logic, anti-human, mess of religious dogma. Witness:
New York Governor Kathy Hochul spoke at New York City's Christian Cultural Center Sunday, September 26, and urged members of the audience to act as her "apos...
Which is why the Democrats in the USA, and the Left around the world, ran their countries as medical tyranny concentration camps for over two years, forcing the magical "vaccine" shots upon the population, and their magical shot doesn't work if you don't take your magical shot.

You're right and I'll tell you something I've noticed:
As a segment of our society becomes healthier through diet and exercise there's a segment that goes the other way and almost mocks the healthy people.
People have also associated being healthy with not having fun- as if sitting around getting drunk and uncomfortably obese is more fun than being fit and healthy.
Maybe it's more that so many people are simply not content with their miserable existence that they see these momentary gluttonous, drunken events as happiness.
Politicians can address that by legislating to help the middle class and poor. But then, we have to elect those politicians.
Like them or not, listen to what people like Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, AOC ... WANT to do for the people.
Then look at what people like Lindsey Graham, Mike Johnson, Mitch McConnell actually DO for the people.
This is real- a friend had her relatives from Ohio visit. One of them said- you know, New York seems to care more about their people than Ohio does.
A simple observation by a common, middle class person.
Lol. Just shut up, you preening, moralizing pvssies. This country has far bigger problems than weed, alcohol and sports betting. A real man is not concerned with these things and can partake in some fun without losing himself. The reality is that 95% of you are addicted to your phones, spend more time watching tv than reading or pursuing something creative, never do anything helpful for other people, and do the bare minimum to stay in shape. Try minding your own business and see how much better the world gets.
