Not a super big fan of racing an athlete that hasn't run a single race for the team all year. Think it's one thing if the athlete has been injured all season or if racing that athlete means your team could potentially win.
But running her first race of the year to help the team finish 6th, when going into this race they were ranked 12th without her, feels dumb. I'm sure the 8th/9th runner can't be super thrilled about that, or the athlete that potentially missed a spot to travel with the team. Or the athlete that finished 2nd. Or the athlete that finished 41st and missed All-American by one spot.
Not saying this is Addy's fault by any means. For all we know her coaches decided not to race her all year except for today. Just seems pretty disrespectful to a lot of different people.
