He's all about that threshold stuff meanwhile Nuguse and Kerr are pushing a lot harder in workouts with fewer and faster reps. Example is that 3:56 mile Nuguse ran in practice indoors in the middle of winter. Meanwhile, Jakob is just doing high volume, lower intensity workouts...twice a day.
The approaches are different and Jakob's approach might be better suited for races 3k+. Perhaps that's why we saw him be vulnerable to Nuguse and the two Brits. People still are questioning his top end speed and there's a reason for it: he just doesn't work do burn-out reps....i.e.. 8x400m @ 54... 8x200m @ 25...etc...
My point is that in races 3k and up he is practicable invincible because his sweet spot might be 58-60 secs per lap. I would be $200 that Nuguse and Kerr would get smoked in any distance 3k and up because Nuguse is more speed than endurance. Jakob, in relation to Nuguse and Kerrr, is more endurance than speed in the speed endurance spectrum. The longer the distance, the more Jakob's specific style of training (double thresholds) is beneficial in the speed endurance spectrum.
