Try to keep the threads on topic. This thread is for discussion about Wiley's potential and whether she can be the next Athing Mu. If you want to talk about Huntington/PEDs, do so in this Huntington/PEDs thread. Some talk about how one may doubt the legitimacy of the performances is allowed as they are in all threads on letsrun, but we do not need every thread going down the Huntington/PED path.
We also plan on requiring registration on Wiley related threads to cut down on the volume of posts and to keep the same few people from posting voluminous amounts of pro or anti Wiley posts.
And if you do post, please do no post false information or impersonate someone else. A possible act of felonious identity deception occurred in one of the threads on Tuesday and we are happy to cooperate with the authorities if they ask. Posts like those are less likely to happen if we require registration.
That’s kind of a tortured way to start another Wiley thread. :-)
Both are great runners in different main events at different phases in their career. Hope Mu races more international races next year prior to Paris. Hope Wiley has a break from racing at some point. Wish the very best for both of them.
In our primes my 100m and marathon times combined shat on Usain Bolt's therefore i am a superior athlete! If you are reading Usain, 12 flat and 2.38.33 what you got?
Mu’s 1500m pr is from a tactical US championship race where they let Mu control the pace. We can come back to this discussion when she runs a real DL time trial 1500m. Rn it’s foolish to compare.
The reason there are so many trolls on LR is because there are so many daft suckers who fall for it every. single. time. I mean, can it get any more obvious than this?
Wiley’s PRs are now faster than most of those on the US teams 😂
So what? Wiley is sitting at home making no money while Mu is making big bucks as a pro athlete and running in the Diamond League final.
Some of you Wiley fans really know how to focus on irrelevant things.
Important point of order, Mu has not qualified for the DL Final. She's been parachuted in by the local organisers. In fact no-one who is there is less qualified!
Mu's the world gold and bronze medalist and the Olympic gold medalist, so deserves a spot. Wiley should have a spot in either 800 or 1500 based on her pr's, which are better than a bunch of them already. You wouldn't just add 800 and 1500 times because that privileges the 1500. Anyway, Wiley's run lots of 1500s and 3:59 is her best while Mu has barely run any and still run a tactical 4:03.
And Wiley is only 19 amd she hasn't run in very many elite 800 races. Give her 3 or 4 more and she will run 1:55. Most people said Mu had no chance to break 4:05. Funny how some now claim that she can run a 3:58.
That is irrelevant. We often compare runners by adding their.times from two adjacent distances. Sprinters are even compared by adding 100, 200, and 400.

Cope and seethe
1. Would you like to see Mu racing in the DL season next year?
2. Will this invite make that more likely or less likely?

First, I responded thinking you were part of the Wiley trolling crew on here, so I apologize if that wasn’t your intent. As for the trolls: sorry, not sorry. Y’all like to dish it out, need to learn how to take it (and not downvote and report everything).
I believe Mu will compete in DL more next year. In 2021, she had just finished a long NCAA season and went straight to US Trials and Olympics, no time for DL. Ran Prefontaine Classic on fumes and still ran 1:55.
In 2022 she did run and win the Rome DL meet. In 2022, she also had Covid twice which caused her to miss at least one DL meet. This has also not been widely discussed, but in an interview after Worlds this year, she stated she was dealing with a hip injury last year.
This year, obviously the coaching change and she also seemed to have some type of personal struggles that per recent social media she seems to be overcoming.
