Broccoli is, along with kale and soy, one of the most toxic things sold as food. You are literally paying to be poisoned when doling out for that $hit. I know whereof I speak, as I fell for the grift hook line and sinker for decades before turning my health around.
I would like to hear more about this toxicity of broccoli. Gotta be a troll. Broccoli is one of the few vegetables I "like."

There's a fashionable trend in the keto and carnivore diet communities to bag on fruits and veggies for having "anti-nutrients" that block absorption of key micronutrients. However, most of the evidence for anti-nutrient capacity of various fruits and veggies is "suggest that it could be that" rather than "it is the case that."

To be fair, some vegetables actually do contain compounds that can cause problems for some individuals with certain susceptibilities, e.g. oxalates etc. But I wouldn't say that this is a problem for the majority of people and you can also look at different vegetables and so on.
Broccoli has more protein per calorie that peanut butter. Gobble gobble MF!
Peanut butter is one of the main reasons Americans sucks in everything. Corn syrup, terrible bread, gene altered vegetables and grains, and mass produced foods as such makes way for a nation more stupid than any nation before in history, even making way for people like trump and desantis.
I saw a video made by the boyfriend of someone I went to high school with where he was praising raw steak (ok fine, whatever) dumping on kale and pretty much ALL vegetables (PHYTATES!! ANTI-NUTRIENTS!!) and then seamlessly transitioned to discussing how much his eye health had been improved by daily urine rinses. This was not a piece of satire.

I did know someone who ate so many leafy greens that he had some issues with iron due to the oxalates or something. He ate A LOT of them. Way more than anyone I've known. He also ate a mostly vegetarian diet. Doctor said, "Eat a few less greens and a few more steaks." He was fine in a few weeks.
The keto/carnivore people are so funny. They collectively ignore the "gatherer" part of our hunter gatherer ancestry. Or the shape of our teeth. Or a million other things.
Thank you for saying what everybody believes but don't have the courage or free time to say. Fresh broccoli stalks have gotten longer over the years. Maybe the produce guys at the market used to clean up produce while doing stocking.
what other vegetable sold by the pound includes an enormous heavy stalk that nobody eats?!
Do you not just tear off the bottom of the stalk before putting the broccoli in the bag?
Do you think I could get a discount on my running shoes if I request for the laces to not be included? I've got plenty of fine working laces at home, I don't need to pay for more.

I've totally thought about cutting the stems off in the store, but it doesn't seem appropriate. Falls somewhere between paying with cash and farting in an elevator. Baaaaa.
