I hate to say it but she missed an opportunity to be in Budapest this year. If she would have run the 800 instead of the 1500 she would have been national champion (* because Mu didn't run). Winning time was only 1:59.50.
We are closing this thread to new posts. The new Wiley thread is here:

She's still in college - a student-athlete.

This is the most brazen but most predictable assault on the US antidoping system in a while. There was no other path forward due to the surrounding scandal. This is a shameless athlete mentored by experienced dopers who does not care about reputation or appearances who is going to try to dope her way to glory, calculating that the sparse antidoping testing wont catch her. All the other 800 and 1500m athletes will just have to sit sullenly silent as Wiley embarks on her Houlihanesque escapade and banks on not getting caught. Lolll. It is so telegraphed it is actually hilarious.
Assume they are all doping and it removes it from the conversation. Well done young lady! Very impressive!

She is 7th in the world for 2023. Only 2 women in the world have run under 1:57 this year. She just might be the 3rd. The World champion Moraa and the silver medalist in the last Olympics. Pretty heady company.

Nike, adidas, Puma, New Balance, Sketchers...who will write the biggest check? Are we looking at the biggest pay day in track and field history tonight!?!?
I'm sure Addy would not care in the slightest what anybody here write because she is not going to waste her life on this message board. But I'm sure she would really appreciate people helping out kids with cancer. I already donated and might donate some more. She said she will donate up to $5,000 of her own money matching donations made. I can't see the prize money right now but I think second was around 1500 Swiss Francs or about $1,700 US dollars. Her campaign is already up to over $1,600. Instead of giving to Houlihan maybe the owners should ante up. You guys have done nothing but allow a totally innocent teenage girl get trampled by a bunch of loser grown men. Scratch that, not men. No MAN would do such a thing.
Maybe it's time some of our professionals and NIL deal runners step up and use their platform for something good other than increasing their bank accounts. It takes a teenager to show them how it's done.
Her times are amazing but they are secondary to her CHARACTER.
Who cares about astro? Cynicism gets lapped. The reality is that the 1:59 got Wiley into this meet and now the 1:57.64 opens eyes throughout Europe and everywhere else. Doors open. Come to our meet.
