Katir had this year the second best results of milers after Jakob.
He is consistent (dont tell me something else): his ranking this year was 1 or 2.With the second performance of the year in the mile and third better all time performance in the 3000m indoor.
We never saw something ile ranking 5 or 6.
Jacob fans try to ignore him because they know he is in the curve of progress as Jacob.
My theory is the following;
After the race 5000m (Eurpean record of the 5000m) I almost predicted he was doomed this year with the way he finished that race.
His problem is that he is relatively recent in the professional circuit. He dont have the same level of maturity and resistance that Jakob reached over the years.
(Jakob is running since aged 12)
Hopefully if he keep his optimism and dont take it on the moral, its likely we see in 2024 a Katir very close to the level of Jakob.
Sounds like he choked.
Katir has actually prepared very well for the 5.000m this year and he may have lost some brilliance and speed which are necessary for the 1500m. Look at his races this year, he focused the most over the 5k with some fantastic results such as the european record. It's not easy to increase the distance and mantain the speed st the same time.
That was stupid from the Spanish federation to do Trials at the End of July a week after Katir run that fatidique 5000m of Monaco. I read on the net that Katir complained about this since they cut his trainings
Lesson to bring for Katir next years:
focus on championships preparations, dont run too much 5000m.

You think they sceduled those trials after Monaco? Well...
When Katir woke up that day they felt like a beautiful princess, hence the performance.
There's only two things. Katir either dropped the dosage or is just terrible, untalented runner
Either way he will never approach the talent of Jakob. Jakob is two levels above him. I'm sure katir will move out of the 1500 soon. He can see the writing on the wall. With Nordas quickly improving and youngsters Myers and Laros quickly improving there's no chance for a medal next year
Every European country had nationals at end of July. And it is lot better than having them on June

Terrible and untalented 3'28 & 12'45, either you are retarded or a bad troll

You guys are underrating this aspect that i evidenced here. He is probabily to run a really good 5.000m trust me. Is he going to win? Probabily not since there Is Cheptegei and the Ethiopians too all in great shape, but he is going to be competitive. He has simply lost some speed and brilliance by training longer distances. He always stayed on the front but the final 150m he was surclassed by those 1500m guys who were all faster than him in the final sprint.

if a 3:28, 12:45 guy is a “terrible, untalented runner” what does that make everyone else
