Agreed but it was a dirty physical pressure tactic none the less. Hassan dived, but there was unnecessary crowding and contact from behind.
m
Hassan drifted out into lane 3 to impede Tsegay's run to the line (while elbowing her in the chest at least 3 times), and somehow Tsegay crowded Hassan.
Agree. Hassan initiated all the contact, pushing Tsegay to lane 3 while elbowing her in the throat and chest multiple times. Tsegay was the best runner today.
It's dumb to run the majority of the race in last place.
She had every opportunity to get into better position heading into the bell lap and didn't.
Then she took a dive at the end once she knew she couldn't hold off Tsegay
It was actually not a dumb race, but the risky tactic didn't work out. Hassan tries the triple and wants to save energy as much as possible. Is she supposed to be the front runner or go at a murderous pace for several kilometers, thinking about the upcoming 5000 and the 1500? In this race she ran at the end of a field that was very close together and above all: wonderfully slow from her point of view. But then ...
Sounds like a click bait thread to me. Lol. Siffan did everything short of pull a weapon out to prevent her from winning. She threw a punch and basically tried to “sweep the leg” with her body once she knew she couldn’t win. On top of that, her comments after the race show she intentionally acted recklessly. I lost a lot of respect for her. I hope she gets smoked the rest of Worlds.
Drifting out one lane in the final stretch of a race is acceptable. Tsegay's left hand hit Hassan's right trailing foot....this caused the fall....and IS a foul! This can be seen in the NBC slo mo replay.
Agreed, the whole drifting thing has become a epidemic, she's like drifting left, then checks if she needs to drift right, the drifts back right.
Its the final straight and your in the lead, just sprint to the finish, no need to cut people off. Its also the rule and clearly needs to enforced so it stops happening.
Respectfully, I disagree Rojo. Sorry, that's a DQ. Never used to see it like I have in the recent years. When you get tired and run out of gas down the straightaway, go out in to lane 2.
And no, it's not a game, that's just after race comments without thinking before you speak. It's a competitive sport at the highest level, it's not a game.
If you want to run the 400 meter dash, run the 400 meter dash. Don’t hobbyjog 9600m
The pedestrian 9600m is when people take a #2 potty break then get something to eat and drink, and also take a nap in your car. You didn't miss a thing.
Sifan admitted to moving over, fine. she also hit her with her arm twice, and then I think she tried to do it again but when she missed it caused her to lose her balance, stumble and fall. too bad as she would have at least gotten 2nd.
stop making excuses for her. she tried to block someone and practically admitted it during an interview. DQ her. this is unacceptable. all it does is lead to contact. if someone did that to me, i might "accidently" spike their calves. do you want this to happen? no? then DQ this.

Have you red the rules though it’s totally legal by world athletics rules. I don’t understand why you are all crying about it. If you don’t want it to happen to you, you lead the race.

where in the rulebook does it say that it is legal?

Wow, I guess you were one of those guys who posted that O'Sullivan tackled Barnett in the NCAA Semifinal. Barely any contact at all in either case. Do us a favor, watch the race before posting about it.
