After the Tinman drama, it’s hard to root for Hunter. I applaud him for taking the big contract but when it’s over he’s done. No one will offer him more than shoes and running gear. Engels seems like a fun guy who loves the lifestyle of a pro without racing well. Hopefully he can find a job through his friends in running so he can stay connected to the sport.

What Tinman drama? So what they fired their coach, that’s way better than the creepy stuff New Gen did
They fired their coach in the least professional way possible. They then kept using his name as the name of the group solely because they had already printed it on T-Shirts that they were planning on selling.
In the drama, it came out that they were barely even paying Tinman. He coached them for free for the first year. Tinman didn't get a penny from the merchandise they sold with his name on it. He even moved his family to coach them for next to no pay.
The kicker was hiring Drew's mom to coach the team. She had no high-level coaching experience and she admits she learned everything from Tinman. Instead of investing in a strong, experienced coach they went the cheapest route.
The whole ordeal exposed Tinman elite, and Drew Hunter specifically, as being lowlifes.
I have believed for a while that Hunter needs to move to 10k and the roads. He does not have the biomechanics to run anywhere near 3:30, or to close a 5k at 53
He’s a pretty big guy for that distance. Doubt he could be at the top of the food chain at longer races.
A big fan of Kessler and think he’s handling his business admirably and performing at a very high level, making steady progress, so no hate here—just curious.
