Holt mania time!
Kinda odd how the commentator said Holt was “so close” to making the Worlds team. He was 12th in the final…but if hype counts he was so close.

Fantastic race for Holt tonight though. Admire how he got after it and committed to the PB.
Great run from Holt. 3:34 and ran the front the whole time. He was capable of making the team but ran on the outside and made unnecessary moves that cost him that day.
Boweman wins but the mixed Oiselle lady wins the hearts of running men
Right after the 1500 someone threw Craig what looked like a beer and he took his spikes off, poured the drink in, and chugged it out of the spike lmao
he then went to take selfies with everyone who wanted one. MAN OF THE PEOPLE
Ribich is such a disappointment. Worst sponsored runner.
Nothing wrong w/Karissa Schweizer . . . may come back to rabbit the 5k . . . said she's going to Europe to rejoin the team and continue racing there . . . and still has hopes for racing the 10k in Budapest . . . if Elise drops the 10k . . . will know about that in a week . . .

No, he wasn't. He finished DFL for good reason. He's not fast enough or tactically skilled enough to beat the best American runners in real races. He finished 4th at USAs last year because the field was weak, not because he was the 4th best American runner.

counter point, the man needed a pay cheque, had no leverage, was sold a story by UTC, and now has to go along with this steeple nonsense.
In an alternate universe he takes peanuts from Nike to let him train with Hocker and the OTC kids, he’d be respectably middle packing 1500s, probably 3:36ing in a race like tonight.
Up to him what he wants to do career-wise with his upcoming unsponsored phase.

How can you possibly say that??? You are on these boards all the time. Do you not read the inane things people say about Holt? These boards are filled with people who think Holt is an elite American runner who is about to run 3:whatever in his next race.
Then, when he doesn't run that, they fill up the boards with posts explaining that he could have, but was thwarted by some dark force ("I could have run 3:31, but Coach told me to run for place" is probably my favorite).
The result is that it's getting harder and harder to root for this guy.

I dunno at this point I’d rather have the 4tb place person run over Karissa. IMO she earned it more than Karissa. She beat Karissa at USA. She should run worlds before Karissa
Hobbs would’ve gained invaluable experience if he ran this meet. It was basically USA’s minus the top three guys.
The only part I agree on is he definitely has an uncoming unsponsored phase. Maybe he will switch to the roads and join some group like Roots.

Dream on fool , he had no chance and didn't make it because the guys that made the team are better. Duh.

Yes, you are correct . . . Kelati came in 4th so "earned" it if one of the top-3 bails . . . however, Weini had two excellent opportunities earlier this year to get down to 30:40/WC Q but couldn't quite get there . . . while Karissa does have the Q from last year . . . so Kelati has to hope a couple or more 10k-ers ahead of her in the WA rankings scratch from Budapest enabling her to get to Worlds . . . as mentioned above, we'll get that all sorted out a bit over a week from now . . .
Google is telling me it has cooled off to 72 degrees in LA. Looks promising for a fast time in the Men's 5000 coming up.

Bunching post pacers, someone needs to relieve Robinson.
Nice race for Ben. Looks like Morgan started off a bit too conservatively, he was flying & passing people at the end.

Lots worth talking about. injury comebacks, few time chasers, winning for winning sake in the not Budapest crowd.
and if anyone would happen to have any recommendations for a good twitch channel or discord server tonight that might be worth watching for completely unrelated reasons…
Good race for MM
Yeah, Morgs looks like he paced it pretty well. He even split it and still dropped a 57s last lap. It's only 10s slower than his PB and that was 2 years ago. He's back!
