It certain appears that way. No comments from commentators which is low key genius. Like they say; If a tree falls in the woods but there is no one to tweet about it…
Definitely, a horrible way to protest peat mining. Imagine if someone got injured, those banners didn't break the people holding them were just weak. Expect something similar at the Tour De France, doubtful in Budapest though.
What a bunch of absolute losers. Throw these scumbags in prison if you want to prevent garbage like this. Imagine this happening on the final lap of a World Championship.
yeah interfering with a track meet with 5 fans in it deserves jail time........ only the LR losers would post this

How did the announcers not even react to this? These guys set up a false finish line 15 meters before the finish, were sitting right on the track, nearly got run over, and the announcers didn't even seem to notice anything was amiss? I was expecting a "OH! THE BAND IS OUT ON THE FIELD!" kind of moment from the announcers. Did they purposely ignore it so as to not draw any attention to the protesters?
I thought Tim Hutchings did a brilliant job in ignoring it, other than a brief reference after the race followed by Steve Cram making sure to steer away.
I haven't seen the NBC version
As they crossed the line I was thinking somebody is lucky they didn't block Warholm's lane. Otherwise it might have been Mike Curtis revisited.

The men's 400m hurdles was never in doubt for Karsten Warholm, who crossed the finish line with time to spare in Stockholm. #NBCSports #TrackandField #Karste...
They've been doing worse than that, from the perspective of the bougie art collectors who don't want their precious paintings defaced. They go into museums and deface the paintings.
I can't believe these idiots were allowed on the track! Climate change? And how exactly did they get there, did they walk without producing any carbon footprint? I'm glad the announcers didn't even mention them!
they hopped a railing and set up banners and even had a 4th person on the track taking photos - That’s gotta be at least 20s. I know It’s not in their job description but how did all the officials timers (and even athletes and fans) let it just happen - no one got upset enough to just go out there and drag the people off the track?!
I'm all for efforts to mitigate climate change and help the environment, but protesting on the homestretch of a track is probably the most smooth-brained attempt that wouldn't help your case. Imagine being on pace for a PR then this happens.
Or if Worholm was on his way to another sub 46?! Doesn't matter what they are protesting, your message is lost when you bother, inconvenience and disregard those around you to send it.
