Yes, I did forget Tyynismaa transferred and that is a huge plus for NC State. But they did not look good at all (besides Tyynismaa) in Outdoor Track.
While Tuohy got most of the attention from the NCAA meet, Chmiel did not run well either. I HIGHLY doubt either of them can repeat their performances from last CC season. Mazza-Downey beat Chmiel by 22 seconds in the 10000m and by 12 seconds in the 5000m. I don't see Chmiel going from 8th in the 10,000m and 16th in the 5000m to 3rd in Cross Country in a few months. The points scored by Tuohy/Chmiel will NOT be a total of 3 like 2022.
Besides, there is no certainty that either Chmiel or Tuohy will even return. Chmiel has already competed four CC seasons and Tuohy could go pro. And who knows who may transfer for Florida. Olemomoi lost the only three runners who she could train with in Tyynismaa, Asekol, and Chelangat, and her coach went to Florida. Could she be the next transfer? If she does, it is all over for everyone.
