TBH, what do you need fast shoes for to break 60 seconds anyway. How much difference will they make? 0.4 at most.
Just get a cheap pair of spikes and break 60 seconds.

From my previous post, the Asics Metaspeed LD would be easier to adapt to for a newbie. They're more like a road racing flat but faster on the track than a road supershoe like the Next %.
at your age and beginning, i would not use spikes for the mile (Nike VF Next% would be better)
for the 400 à 60" pace, dragonfly would be goog
Avoid zoom victory! they are far too agressive. I don't understand why someone upthere recommand these for this situation!!!
Thanks everyone, took some time off after a long bike ride but now back on it! Going for the dragonfly spikes and will break into them easy. Going to be adding a couple of track sessions a week to my normal routine which will need fun and new! Going slow though as not really run much at all in the last 6 weeks so building back up. Again, thanks for the advice.
Yes, TRT for hypogonadism is a lifelong medication. The subject is complicated slightly because plenty are on “TRT” as a low level steroid cycle with little or no clinical need, but even then, once they start it’s tricky to just stop.
Probably doesn’t alter what shoe I need though :)))
True, but it would help you get a faster time than you would without the TRT.
Still, at least you have the honesty to admit it.
Yes, but so does taking my asthma inhaler! Or getting a good nights sleep! I don't need to "admit" it. People's medical requirements and treatments are not things they to own up to! - I'm just some bloke running around a track for a laugh :)

He shall be far under 5 in the mile to be in top 10. I ran a 4:29 1500m (which equals around 4:50 in the mile) in my early 50ies and I wasn´t in top 10 (perhaps around no. 20).
Finally: I agree that his 5:22 in the mile and 66 in the 400m are impressive times considering his weigth and lack of experience. Apart from my above 1500m time I ran 57 in the 400m and 2:07.5 in the 800m also in my early 50ies but I had also been doing sport all my life; mainly as a soccer player. And my weight was (and still are) only 65kg.
By the way: I ran all my above races (also the 1500m) in sprint shoes (with spikes).
I would pay to watch this guy, Nick Bare, Alex Viada, and Matt London go head to head in a four man mile race with a million dollar winner takes all prize. Give them 12 weeks to train for it and let them all roid to the max. Jamin and Wejo can be the pacers.

The first 2 are VERY different from taking TRT. Give me abreak. another youtuber scammer.
