False, Molly’s next race is the BAA 10k on Sunday where she’ll be running against the top Africans and Americans. OP goes home devastated for not doing his homework.

A 10k is not a marathon. Unless you are saying Molly is now a hobby jogger and considers it a "10k marathon".

You created this thread and you can't even remember what it's about? Title says "Molly Seidel's Next Race..."

What does my user name say? A 10k marathon next Sunday and then a 6k marathon a couple Sundays after that? What after? A 5k marathon? Molly's races just keep going down and down in distance.

Pics? No feets please, seen those when she was wearing Teva after that trail race... ooof.

You also mentioned "Looks to me that with each race, Molly goes down in distance and race prestige," when clearly the latter isn't the case.
Injuries suck, especially so for the marathon. Frankly, as one of the 6 Olympic marathon medal winners for the US over the last 98 years, she can run whatever the heck she wants.

Athing Mu has entered, and left, the building. Thanks Athing, you go shopping girl!

Athing's clearly amazing, but apologies... not sure what she has to do with this?
Molly has her own life to lead. I hope she figures out what she needs to do whether that includes running, or not I'm biased. I was Notre Dame CC captain years ago. I've talked to a few ND runners who ran with Molly and they said she was great - and they were talking about her as a person, not as a runner. The Olympic race was amazing. If someone trolled you every day at your work, how would you feel? Go Molly. Go Irish.

it's basically the middle of summer and she is coming back from injury/ mental health challenges... surely you aren't suggesting she get back to racing by running a full marathon at this time of year during a lead up to what I assume will be a fall marathon???? like what??
I'm never going to understand what the Americans of Let's Runs' problem with Molly Seidel is... She won an Olympic medal in the marathon for you. Was this unexpected? Yes. Will is be the peak of her career? Perhaps. But what a peak!
This is the race that Keira won last year. Aliphine finished 3rd. Paige Stoner was up there. All great marathoners who had fantastic fall races. Why are we saying it’s a country bumpkin race?
The 6K in Canton OH is on the USATF road race circuit and there is $20,000 in prize money, typically distributed to the top 10. So, the opportunity to win some money helps with the bills and a higher placing looks good to sponsors. With a women's only field the race will attract some attention and she might even get some appearance fee, and be a featured speaker.
Bring the downvotes on, but those are some reasonable facts.
It's right by where I used to live and went to college (20 mins. away); it's a big race. I was initially not a fan but the more I learned about her and her background the more I could relate to her. I am pulling for her!
