He's not a speedster and doesn't have the best kick; but from 10k to half-marathon, I think he's the best, and that's including Cheptegei.
He would need a good pacer though, maybe to 6/7k.
He and his agent should arrange a record attempt in the next few weeks. Dole out for 2 of the 7 young Kenyans who have run 13:00-13:05 this year, one to go to 4k and one to aim for 6k+. Heck, maybe even a guy like Grijalva would be up for it for a payday; it’s not like he has a qualifying meet to worry about. Set the wavelight to 2:39-2:38-2:38-2:37-2:37-2:37-2:36-2:36-2:36-2:36 (13:09/13:01) and see what he can do. Moving to #4 all time seems like just about the “worst case scenario.”
