Looking at the cones placement, I have doubts about the runners running a FULL 2 miles.
Yes, and some of the “cones” were not cones at all, but looked like little flying saucers, which probably weren’t tall enough to comply with whatever cone rule high schools have.
With Ellie Shea and Simeon Birnbaum both winning while wearing their trademark shades (and being the only runners wearing them), if I were an executive at Oakley I'd be thinking there must be some sort of marketing opportunity there...

I'm not sure either of them wears Oakley. Ellie's look like goodr, and Simeon's seem to be missing the trademark O at the temple, whatever they are.
If it’s not the shoes, and more about the training that’s causing all these high schoolers to run so fast, can someone shed some light on this unique training?
Under the probably incorrect assumption that he posts all his training accurately on strava he's only averaging 44mpw this year so far... dam

Coach d and you..You know I saw the same thing and it stood out to me..no rail OR curb, could this have even counted for "record" or list purposes..I was watching pretty carefully and did not see any of the top 4-5 inside the line at any time, but on two straightaways for a stretch on each, there were not even any plastic things...And in the back I saw one guy at least run inside the line, not sure that was gaining anything, but clearly he and another guy did. even marginally.

At least with high school kids, I don’t think it’s about the best kids today training dramatically better than the best kids a decade ago. It’s about a much larger number of kids training properly so there are more kids with the right genetic lottery makeup that train properly in HS.

Just about everyone is dropping ridiculous times. A lot of people are saying it’s really not the shoes, but improved training methods. I would love to know what these miraculous training methods are. And how everyone seems to have captured the right formula. To me, running and training is fairly simple, so what am I missing?

But what about the professional runners who have shown dramatic improvements over the last few years. The depth of fast times for pro runners is astounding
He might throw down something crazy tonight, but now there's 0 chance he beats Leo on Sunday. I already would've given it a 50/50 chance on an even playingfield, but after an all out 2-mile AND 1500m 4 and 2 days ago I doubt Simeon will even be able to go sub 4
