I don't think he will win this time...he has very little speed work done and has no experience of running indoors...
It is not easy to win an Irish Schools Champ. and he did it in style last year...a guy for the future....

Absolutely nailed it, dude. Nice post. Now on to the next topic ...
He does NOT take anyones spot in the race and was simply an add. I could see people having a problem if he were taking the spot of a kid that had run faster but he is not.
I was at a luncheon on Monday where Howard Schmertz, Millrose Games meet director emeritus, spoke of the conversation he had on the telephone with Eamonn Coghlan about his son running the race. He said, and a dozen reporters were listening, that anyone named Coghlan could run in the Millrose Games.
Today, I met the boy in the lobby of the meet hotel. He was with his dad. He's much taller than his did, and is baby-faced. I wonder how he'll do...
why would Eammon want his kid in the field if he is going to be embarrassed by 4:10 milers? Legit question.
Tradition? Its not like there are 7 or 8 people who have run 4:10 in the race with him- I doubt he'll finish last unless he isn't in shape. Now if he shows up and runs a 4:30... maybe it would have been better to not run. But I guess we'll see, since he is in the race, and we don't have much of a choice.
