I've never seen any other collegiate program dissected the way posters are going at Oregon. Some points that have been made are reasonable criticisms, like Schumacher needing to be more communicative. But a lot of it is pure hatred. About those lack of distance points- putting aside the decision to redshirt Cook and maybe one or two others who had fringe possibilities in scoring, on the men's side the cupboard was bare. Whoever is at Eugene now was brought there by the prior regime. None of them are difference makers. And a few of them recorded PRs during the season but were nowhere near the level needed to compete at the Pac-12s.
On the women's side I think that some criticism is valid, particularly in the women's 1500. Thornton-Bott, Kazimierska and Elmore probably should have had better performances. But it's one meet, let's see how they do in regionals.
With a good recruiting class coming in for both the men & women expectations will be much higher next season.
