Why is that hard to believe? They all look very fit.
Agreed, completely believable. The only one who raises any skepticism is the guy on the right whose face looks a little older and fatter, but that’s just the neck up and 19:59 ain’t no OT qualifier.
If he put in 60-70 miles per week and got after it, he would break 16:30 and pwn a bunch of you h8ers. It would be so hilarious to see you jackaloons get rolled up by Zuckerberg!

Yeah nothing unbelievable about their performance, that poster must be annoyed a bunch of tech bros showed him up. Still it’s a very respectable time for someone that age with no running background, no one here is saying it’s the most impressive athletic feat the world has seen this year. I’m a year older than Mark and have run sub-15 and am in good overall shape now but I’m not sure I’d be able to run that time today.
It is impressive given that it's unlikely he would have the time to do much mileage. Where would he do it anyway, given that he can hardly pound the pavements around town every day.
Exactly, at 38 years old with no extensive running experience, it is impressive to hammer out a 19:34. Even an experienced 38 year old who ran 15's in his earlier days, would still need a minimum base of 20-30 to do a 19. you can fake 8 minute miles for a 5k, but hard to fake 6 minute miles for a 5k without some training.
A lot of his typical runs are probably around 8 minute pace. He just needs to run 32 minutes each day to run 28 mile weeks. Maybe he runs 40 minutes every day and runs 35 mile weeks. That's not an outrageous time commitment. And what he said about running not taking his mind off work, I relate to that. Really running helps you think through problems, sometimes work problems. If I'm working hard on something and can't quite figure it out I have a tough time going for a run because the entire time I'm just thinking about getting back to figure out what I was having troubles with. I think that's what he's saying.
It’s hard to imagine a “human being” like mark zuckerberg blowing past you during one of his 6:45 minute tempo runs. The cyborgs must’ve given him cyberkinetic upgrades to match what would be a normal progression for a training cycle. I think they optimized his abilities a little too much, soundly be surprised to see drop a sub 17 next training cycle as robots think too linearly and underestimate diminishing returns.

"As the owner of a 15 year old 14:5X 5k, PR...I can say this guy must be trying to start a dckmeasuring contest" 🤡
There are several in the race on Strava, I'm seeing 3.11+ and start/finish at same point, so it's as legit as a fun race can be.
Here is someone who was running around Mark, he achieved a low 19 on 25 mpw. Certainly capable for that type of time with easy runs in the 7's and a 5:25 time trial a couple weeks ago.
Enroll him in daily drug tests. Find video footage that may suggest he cut the course. If he can't reproduce the time within 2 months, he is 100% dirty and he should be forced to return his 3rd place Age Group Men's 35-40 division ribbon to the next finisher.
