I think part of the uproar over Mulvaney is that they act like a preteen girl rather than an adult woman. Some people see that as a step toward allowing pedophilia. I think that's a stretch in Mulvaney's case; it's probably more of an online persona for attention. That's the argument I see brought up though.
Mulvaney is a comedian, and it is supposed to be a comedy act. That's why Mulvaney is not acting like an adult woman of their age. But people of certain political orientation are usually challenged in their sense of humor. I don't find it particularly funny, but I don't think that is anything to be taken seriously.
